John D'Silva
John D'Silva (born 20 February 1970) is an Indian Konkani actor, playwright and director. D'Silva is the first tiatrist to enter the Limca Book of Records in 2010 for acting, writing, directing and producing 25 tiatrs having a double alphabet in their titles. He is the first tiatrist to have released his 25th tiatr ''Nattok'' in London and Germany and thereafter to have staged it throughout the state of Goa. He has also acted in the Konkani movies '' O Maria'' (2010), '' Nachom-ia Kumpasar'' (2015), ''Nirmon'' (2015) and ''O La La'' (2018). Nachom-ia Kumpasar
''Nachom-ia Kumpasar'' (English: ''Let's dance to the rhythm''), is a Konkani musical drama film. It is based on the lives of two jazz musicians, Chris Perry and Lorna. The film, which takes its title from the name of a song by the two artists, was directed by Bardroy Barretto. It starred Vijay Maurya and Palomi Ghosh in the lead roles. The story is told through over 20 popular Konkani songs from the 1960s and 1970s that have been re-recorded for this film. The film is set in the 1960s and is a tribute to the 'unsung' Konkani musicians of that era. The Goa premiere was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The film was funded with contributions from friends. Konkani () is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Konkani people, primarily in the Konkan region, along the western coast of India. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages mentioned in the Indian Constitution, and the official language of the Indian state of Goa. ''Nirmon'' is a Goan Konkani film produced in 1966. It was directed by A. Salam and produced by Frank Fernand. The film features C. Alvares, Shalini, Anthony D’Sa, Ophelia, Souza Ferrao, Antonette and Jacinto Vaz. Cast and crew Nirmonn was Frank Fernand's second production. It had story and direction of A. Salam and music by Frank Fernand himself, dialogues by C. Alvares, screenplay and editing by R. V. Shirkhande. The film stars Shalini Mardolkar, C. ''O Maria'' is a Konkani language film released in 2010 in Goa, India. It is the fourth film by Rajendra Talak after the National Award winning ''Aleesha'' in 2004, ''Antarnad'' in 2006 and ''Sawariya.com'' in 2008. Plot Maria is a single woman of forty plus, living alone with her mother, running a quiet business of putting up tourists in her house by the sea and a small restaurant. She has the good fortune of owning a land and a house in a prime spot by the sea which is eyed by developers. The subject of sale of land in Goa and the outsider/insider issue has been plaguing the state for sometime and O Maria revolves around the same subject.
