Johannes Strolz
Johannes Strolz (born 12 September 1992) is an Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer. He won the gold medal in the combined at the 2022 Olympics. He specializes in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom. He is the son of Hubert Strolz, the gold medalist in Combined at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. He and his father became the first father-son duo to win gold in Alpine skiing at the Olympics. Biography Youth and Europa Cup Strolz was born on September 12, 1992, in Bludenz, Austria. His father, Hubert Strolz, became the Olympic champion in combined at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. After graduating from the famous Schigymnasium Stams, he became a member of the junior squad of the Austrian Skiing Federation. The International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup was the premier circuit for alpine skiing competition. The inaugural season launched in January 1967, and the season marked the 52nd consecutive year for the FIS World Cup. This season began in October 2017 in Sölden, Austria, and concluded in mid-March at the finals in Åre, Sweden. Madonna di Campiglio (german: Sankt Maria im Pein) is a village and a ski resort in northeast Italy. It is a ''frazione'' of the ''comune'' of Pinzolo. Nils Mani (born 23 May 1992) is a Swiss former alpine ski racer. Mani specialized in the speed events of Downhill and Super-G. Mani made his World Cup debut on 15 December 2012 in Val Gardena, Italy finishing in 40th place. Career Mani competed for Switzerland at the 2011 Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. He finished 33rd in the giant slalom, 20th in the slalom, 8th in the combined, 6th in the downhill, and 11th in the Super-G. Ralph Weber (born 31 May 1993) is a Swiss alpine ski racer. Weber specializes in the speed events of Downhill and Super-G also skiing in the Alpine Combined discipline. Weber was the Junior World Champion in Super-G in 2012, making his World Cup debut in the same year on 15 March, 2012 in Schladming, Austria at the age of just 18. Career Weber's first major appearance was at the 2011 Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. He finished 9th in the downhill, and 17th in the Super-G. Having claimed his first podium at Europa Cup level, Weber competed in the 2012 Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in Roccaraso, Italy.
