This event is traditionally held annually with appearances from top independent talent, retired wrestlers, and the event's namesake, Joey Janela. The first event took place in March 2017 in Florida and it found annual success due to its proximity to WWE's WrestleMania. This event is now part of GCW's "The Collective", which is a week long series of wrestling events including GCW's Bloodsport and Effy's Big Gay Brunch, as well as events from other promotions including Shimmer and Freelance Wrestling. Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), formerly known as Jersey Championship Wrestling (JCW), is an American independent professional wrestling promotion based in New Jersey. The promotion was originally founded by Ricky Otazu in 1999, it was rebranded under its current name in 2015, after a sale to Danny Demanto and current owner Brett Lauderdale. Jervis Cottonbelly is a professional wrestling gimmick that originates from Chikara. He has appeared in several independent promotions including Championship Wrestling from Hollywood. Claude Giroux (born July 13, 1956) is a Canadian-born midget wrestler whose career spans over 20 years. He is still active in the Canadian Independent circuit.
