''Joey Cape's Bad Loud'' is the self-titled debut album by the band of the same name, led by Californian punk rock musician Joey Cape, frontman of Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut, released on June 9, 2011. The album features electric full-band renditions of acoustic songs originally released on Joey Cape's two solo acoustic albums: ''Bridge'' and ''Doesn't Play Well with Others''. It was recorded at the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado with producers Bill Stevenson, Jason Livermore and Andrew Berlin, who have previously worked with Cape on various Lagwagon albums. Joey Cape's Bad Loud is an American alternative music project that was started in 2011 by punk rock singer Joey Cape, frontman of California punk bands Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut. The band's debut self-titled album was released on June 9, 2011. History Rumors about Cape working on a new full-band project started in January 2011, when Cape hinted about a possibility of re-recording some songs from his second solo album ''Doesn't Play Well with Others'' in an electric full-band form for a yet unnamed new project, not being Lagwagon or Bad Astronaut. Acoustic Music
Acoustic music is music that solely or primarily uses instruments that produce sound through acoustic means, as opposed to electric or electronic means. The Ataris are an American punk rock band from Anderson, Indiana. Formed in 1996, they released five studio albums between 1997 and 2007. Drag The River (Colorado Band)
Drag the River is an American alternative country band from Colorado. History Drag the River formed in 1996 when Chad Price of All began working with Jon Snodgrass of Armchair Martian, Paul Rucker and J.J. Nobody of the Nobodys. They released ''Hobo's Demos'' in 2000. Steel guitarist Zach Boddicker joined the band in 2001 around the time they were touring the US West coast. They then released ''Closed'' through Upland Records in early 2002; that same year, the live album ''Live at the Starlight'' was released through Mars Motors Records. Outtakes from ''Hobo's Demos'' were released under the name ''Chicken Demos'' in May 2004. Boddicker left he band shortly afterwards to return to education. Chad Price
Chad Price is the lead singer for the melodic punk band ALL and alt-country band Drag the River. He is currently the lead singer for A Vulture Wake. He joined ALL in 1993 as the band's third singer, after Dave Smalley and Scott Reynolds. He has appeared on the four most recent studio albums, as well as one live album. He is officially still a member of the band, although Scott Reynolds has been joining the band on certain live dates. In 1996, while still active with ALL, Price formed Drag The River with Jon Snodgrass. Drag The River announced a break in 2007, although they were together again by 2008. ''Doesn't Play Well with Others'' is the second full-length solo album by Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut frontman Joey Cape, released on June 1, 2011. It was released with one song at a time, each month, during 2010 on Joey Cape's official website, beginning on January 18, 2010. The first track "Going for the Bronze" was released on January 18, 2010, while the last track "I Always Knew This Was Going to End Badly" was released on December 12, 2010. Cape's daughter Violet drew the pictures which are used as the artwork for each of the songs, as well as the full album's artwork. Before the release of the album, Cape has announced that those who will get a paid subscription would get a new song each month as well as receiving a package including a signed limited edition CD and a vinyl of all 12 songs. ''Bridge'' is the first solo album by Californian punk rock musician Joey Cape, frontman of Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut, released on September 29, 2008, through Suburban Home Records. Unlike Cape's work in his bands, the album is an acoustic music, acoustic alternative rock, alternative/indie rock album, much like his work with Tony Sly on their collaborative album ''Acoustic'' from 2004. In the album's booklet, Cape describes the solo album as a "rite of passage." 5 songs on the album are acoustic renditions of songs previously released on the Lagwagon EP ''I Think My Older Brother Used to Listen to Lagwagon'' which was released in August of the same year. Bad Astronaut
Bad Astronaut is an American indie/alternative rock band founded in 2000 by Joey Cape, singer from Lagwagon. In Bad Astronaut, Joey Cape explores a style of alternative rock, with lyrics often about deep and intricate personal matters. The band released its debut album, ''Acrophobe'' in 2001, followed by '' Houston: We Have a Drinking Problem'' in 2002 on Honest Don's Records. The band released its third and final album, '' Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment'' on November 14, 2006, on Fat Wreck Chords. Upon the album's release, Joey Cape announced, "without Derrick, there is no Bad Astronaut" on the band's Myspace page, deciding the resulting record would be the last for Bad Astronaut. Blasting Room
The Blasting Room is a recording studio in Fort Collins, Colorado. Founded by members of the punk rock band All in 1994, it is owned and operated by musician Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag, All, Only Crime) and Jason Livermore. The studio is known for recording and producing many punk rock bands, with Stevenson and Livermore serving as in-house audio engineers and record producers. In July 1994, the members of All relocated from Brookfield, Missouri to Fort Collins. Using money from their recent recording contract with Interscope Records, they designed and began construction of The Blasting Room with the help of guitarist Stephen Egerton's father, Dan O' Reilly. Lagwagon
Lagwagon is an American punk rock band originally from Goleta, California, just outside Santa Barbara. They formed in 1989, went on hiatus in 2000, and reunited several times over the years. Their name comes from the band's tour van, which can be seen on the back cover of their 1994 second album '' Trashed''. The band has 12 releases through Fat Wreck Chords: nine studio albums, one EP, one live album and a collection of B-sides, compilation tracks and demos. Lagwagon has never had, nor have they seemed to pursue, strong mainstream success, but they do have a devoted underground following in North America, Europe and Asia. Randal Joseph Cape (born November 16, 1966) is an American singer and musician. Active since 1989, Cape is best known as the frontman of the California punk rock band Lagwagon. Cape released his first solo album, ''Bridge'', in 2008. His second album ''Doesn't Play Well with Others'', was self-released in 2011, after he released each song on the album each month of 2010, collecting them all on CD and vinyl in the end of 2010. Biography In addition to his work with Lagwagon, he was the lead vocalist for the experimental band Bad Astronaut until they disbanded due to death of drummer Derrick Plourde and is also a guitarist in the cover band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
