Jo Brand
Josephine Grace Brand (born 23 July 1957) is an English comedian, writer, presenter and actress. Starting her entertainment career with a move from psychiatric nursing to the alternative comedy stand-up scene and early performances on '' Saturday Live'', she went on to appear on '' The Brain Drain'', Channel 4's ''Jo Brand Through the Cakehole'', '' Getting On'' and various television appearances including as a regular guest on '' QI'', '' Have I Got News for You'' and '' Would I Lie to You?''. She also makes regular appearances on BBC Radio 4 in programmes such as ''The News Quiz'' and '' Just a Minute''. Since 2014 she has been the presenter of '' The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice''. In 2003, Brand was listed in ''The Observer'' as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy. Glastonbury Festival 2019
The 2019 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts took place between 26 and 30 June. The three headlining acts were Stormzy, the Killers and The Cure, with Kylie Minogue performing in the "legends" slot. This was the last regular edition until 2022 when the subsequent two editions were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, known as enforced "fallow" years. Getting On (British TV Series)
''Getting On'' is a satirical British sitcom based on a geriatric ward in an NHS hospital. It is written by its core cast, Jo Brand, Vicki Pepperdine, and Joanna Scanlan. Series 1 and 2 were directed by Peter Capaldi, who also appears as Dr. Healy. It first aired in July 2009, for three episodes. The second series of six episodes aired in 2010, with the third series (also of six episodes) airing in late 2012. Charing Cross Hospital
Charing Cross Hospital is an acute general teaching hospital located in Hammersmith, London, United Kingdom. The present hospital was opened in 1973, although it was originally established in 1818, approximately five miles east, in central London. Hastings
Hastings () is a large seaside town and borough in East Sussex on the south coast of England, east to the county town of Lewes and south east of London. The A3036 is an A road in London, England, running from Waterloo to Wandsworth. St Paul's Church, Clapham
St Paul's Church is a Church of England parish church in Clapham, London. There has been a church on the site since the 12th century. The current building was completed in 1815 and is Grade II* listed. In the grounds, which hold the Green Flag Award, are some fine tombs including many early 19th century sarcophagi and a community garden, Eden. The incumbent is Revd Canon Jonathan Boardman. History The original parish church of Clapham was St Mary's Church which dated from the 12th century. St Mary's was renamed Trinity Church after the Reformation. ''The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice'' (sometimes shortened to ''An Extra Slice'') is a British television after-show to follow the series ''The Great British Bake Off''. ''The News Quiz'' is a British topical panel game broadcast on BBC Radio 4. History ''The News Quiz'' was first broadcast in 1977 with Barry Norman as chairman. Subsequently, it was chaired by Barry Took from 1979 to 1981, Simon Hoggart from 1981 to 1986, Barry Took again from 1986 to 1995, and then again by Simon Hoggart from 1996 until March 2006. Hoggart was replaced by Sandi Toksvig in September 2006, who in turn was replaced by Miles Jupp in September 2015 until his departure at the end of 2019.
