Jinmyeong Girls' High School
Jinmyeong Girls' High School () is a private girls high school located in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The school was originally established in 1906 with financial support from princess Consort Eom (Princess Sunheon) as part of king Gojong’s national salvation movement through educational movement. It was called an "imperial school" for this reason. Jinmyeong's purpose was to provide modern, westernized education for girls. In 1910, the Japanese army took over the school during the Japanese occupation of Korea. In 1919 a group of girls, some of whom were students at Jinmyeong started an independence movement against the Japanese occupiers. The school received criticism in 2022 for forcing students to write letters to soldiers, who sexualized the students. Na Hye-sok
Na Hye-seok (, 28 April 1896 – 10 December 1948) was a Korean feminist, poet, writer, painter, educator, and journalist. Her pen name was Jeongwol (). She was a pioneering Korean feminist writer and painter. She was the first female professional painter and the first feminist writer in Korea. She created some of the earliest Western-style paintings in Korea, and published feminist novels and short stories. She became well known as a feminist because of her criticism of the marital institution in the early 20th century. Early life Na Hye-seok was born into the Naju Na clan (나주 나씨, 羅州 羅氏), an aristocratic family, in 1896 in Suwon as the fourth child to Na Gi-jeong and Lady Choi Si-ui. GFriend
GFriend (stylized in all caps; ) was a South Korean girl group formed by Source Music in 2015. The group consisted of six members: Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji. They debuted with the extended play (EP) '' Season of Glass'' on January 15, 2015 and won several female rookie awards, garnering momentum early on despite being from a small company. GFriend continued their commercial success the next year with their third EP, ''Snowflake'', whose lead single " Rough" won first place on numerous music shows. Yangcheon-gu
The Yangcheon District (Yangcheon-gu) is a ''gu'', or district, of Seoul, South Korea, located on the southwest side of the Han River. Eunha (singer)
Jung Eun-bi (born May 30, 1997), better known by her stage name Eunha, is a South Korean singer and actress. She was the vocalist of the girl group GFriend, and a current member of the trio Viviz. Early life Eunha was born May 30, 1997, in Seoul. She was a child actress, and had a role in the 2007 television drama '' The Clinic for Married Couples: Love and War''. When she was seven years old, she was diagnosed with langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH). She then took on treatment for the disease and had regular blood tests until she was in the sixth grade of primary school. Hwang Yun-suk
Hwang Yun-suk (1929–1961) was the first female judge in South Korea. Paper presented at the annual meeting of the Law and Society Association, Berlin, Germany Career Hwang graduated from Jinmyeong Girls' High School, and went on to study in the Faculty of Law at Seoul National University. She passed the third annual in 1952. She took office as a prosecutor in the in 1953. In September 1954, she was appointed a judge of the First Civil Division of the , and held that position until her death. South Korea's first female court clerk, Park Gyeong-sun (), began working for Hwang in 1960. Death and legacy Hwang was found dead on the morning of 21 April 1961.
