Jimmy Cochrane (footballer, Born 1935)
James Cochrane (born 26 October 1935) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Birmingham City and Walsall. Cochrane was born in Kingswinford, which was then in Staffordshire, and attended Brierley Hill Secondary School.Includes a lengthy extract from the match programme of the E.S.F.A. Trophy Final second leg, 23 May 1951. He made his name in schools football, as inside right and playmaker in the Brierley Hill, Sedgley & District Schools team that reached the final of the English Schools' Football Association Trophy in 1951. Cochrane, together with his schools' team captain and future England international Trevor Smith, joined Birmingham City in the summer of 1951, and signed professional forms when he turned 17. He made his first-team debut on 7 March 1953, aged 17 years 4 months, in the Second Division match at Huddersfield Town which finished 1–1, and kept his place for the next game. Non-League football describes football leagues played outside the top leagues of a country. Usually, it describes leagues which are not fully professional. The term is primarily used for football in England, where it is specifically used to describe all football played at levels below those of the Premier League (20 clubs) and the three divisions of the English Football League (EFL; 72 clubs). Currently, a non-League team would be any club playing in the National League or below that level. Brian Taylor (footballer Born 1937)
Brian Joseph Taylor (24 March 1937 – 10 June 2015) was an English footballer who played as a winger. In a career spanning over sixteen years he made 316 league appearances in the Football League. He turned professional with Walsall in September 1954, before winning a £10,000 move to Birmingham City in June 1958. He played in the top flight, as well as in Europe, for the "Blues", before he was struck down with a broken leg. He moved down a division to join Rotherham United in October 1961, before dropping down another division to play for Shrewsbury Town two years later. His descent to the basement division was complete when he was signed by Port Vale for £3,000 in July 1965. He transferred to Barnsley in May 1967, and helped the club to win promotion out of the Fourth Division in 1967–68. Football League Fourth Division
The Football League Fourth Division was the fourth-highest division in the English football league system from the 1958–59 season until the creation of the Premier League prior to the 1992–93 season. Whilst the division disappeared in name in 1992, the 4th tier of English football continued as the Football League Third Division, and later became known as Football League Two.
