Jimmy Adams
James Clive Adams OD (born 9 January 1968) is a former Jamaican cricketer, who represented the West Indies as player and captain during his career. He was a left-handed batsman, left-arm orthodox spin bowler and fielder, especially in the gully position. He was also an occasional wicketkeeper when required. James Henry Kenneth Adams (born 23 September 1980), known as Jimmy Adams, is an English former professional cricketer. He played as a left-handed batsman and left-arm medium-pace bowler. He first starred for the England Under-19s having previously represented his country at the Under-15 and Under-19 World Cups. Having been named as Hampshire's Young Player of the Year, he captained Loughborough UCCE in 2003 and made his maiden first-class century against Somerset in 2003. He was a member of Hampshire's 2005 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy winning squad. In 2008, Adams played three Minor Counties fixtures for Dorset. During the 2009 season, Hampshire progressed to win the final of the 2009 Friends Provident Trophy. Adams scored half-centuries in both the semi-final and the final sharing large opening stands with Michael Lumb, including 55 runs in a stand of 93 with Lumb in the final at Lord's, helping Hampshire to a 6 wicket victory over Sussex. Adams won the 1997 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the Legends Class, setting a new race record and qualifying record. In 1998, Adams again campaigned a Legends Car in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and finished in second place. He drove a Dodge Viper GTS in the T1 Class of the 1999 SCCA National Series. Adams won multiple SCCA T1 National races, including Road Atlanta, Daytona, and Pocono, and he qualified on the front row for the 1999 SCCA Runoffs at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Jimmy Adams (golfer)
James Adams (21 October 1910 – 9 January 1986) was a Scottish professional golfer who was chosen for five Ryder Cup sides and achieved high finishes in The Open Championship on several occasions (five top-10s including two seconds). Born in Troon, Adams turned professional when 14, and won the Irish Professional Championship, in 1933. In 1936, he won the Penfold Tournament on the British Tour, and came very close to winning The Open Championship at Hoylake. Adams shared the third-round lead with Henry Cotton, but despite beating Cotton (and Gene Sarazen, also in the field that year) in the final round, Adams finished a single shot behind Alf Padgham. Two years later, at Royal St George's, Adams' final two rounds of 78-78 put him in second place, this time behind Reg Whitcombe. Jimmy Adams (footballer)
James Arthur Adams (2 August 1937 – 30 December 2005) was an English footballer who played at full-back for Port Vale, Crewe Alexandra and Macclesfield Town from 1956 to 1963. Career Adams spent his youth with Wolverhampton Wanderers, before he returned to his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent to sign for Freddie Steele's Port Vale in May 1956. There he was converted from a wing-half position to play at full-back. His only appearance for the club came in a Third Division South clash at Brentford's Griffin Park on 26 April 1958, Vale losing 4–1. He was released from Vale Park by manager Norman Low in May 1960 and later joined Crewe Alexandra. James B. Adams (October 4, 1888 – December 19, 1933) was an American silent-screen comedian and actor. Career In 1921, Adams starred in two-reel comedies for Educational Pictures and Al Christie. The slightly built, pencil-mustached Adams has been described by historian Kalton C. Lahue as "a poor man's Charley Chase." Like Chase, and unlike the other comics at Educational, Adams favored situational comedy over slapstick. He briefly replaced Mack Sennett comic Harry McCoy in the cartoon-inspired ''Hall Room Boys'' series (produced by Harry Cohn and Jack Cohn, later of Columbia Pictures). By 1924, Adams was back with Educational. Christie hired Adams for six comedies released in 1926 and 1927. The Christie comedies were more polite and less extreme than the slam-bang comedies of other studios, but Christie's soft-pedal comedy style did find an audience.
