Jim Williams (American Football, Born 1928)
James Davidson Williams (December 23, 1928 – June 11, 1989) was an American football coach. He served as the head coach of the Claremont-Mudd Stags football program, representing Claremont McKenna College and Harvey Mudd College, from 1961 to 1964 and two stints as the head football coach at California State University, Los Angeles, from 1966 to 1968 and 1974 to 1975, compiling a career college football coaching record of 33–49–2. Williams was born on December 23, 1928 in McLaughlin, South Dakota. He grew in up in Los Angeles, where attended and played football at Los Angeles High School, Los Angeles City College, and California State University, Los Angeles when it was known as Los Angeles State College. James Arthur Williams
James Arthur Williams (December 11, 1930 – January 14, 1990) was an American antiques dealer and a historic preservationist based in Savannah, Georgia. He played an active role in the preservation of the Savannah Historic District for over 35 years. Williams is the main character in the book ''Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil'', published four years after his death in 1990. After four trials for an alleged murder that occurred in his house in 1981, he was acquitted in 1989. James Hunter Williams (June 17, 1926 – December 16, 2016), known as Jim Williams or J. H. Williams, was an American politician and member of the Democratic Party. Williams is best known for serving as the 11th Lieutenant Governor of Florida from 1975 to 1979, and as the United States Deputy Secretary of Agriculture from 1979 to 1981. Prior to his selection as Governor Reubin Askew's running mate during Askew's 1974 reelection campaign, Williams served for six years in the Florida Senate, representing parts of north-central Florida including his home county of Marion. In the Askew administration, Williams also served as Secretary of the Department of Administration and chairman of the state Bicentennial Commission. Sidney James Williams (11 September 1935 – 18 July 2015) was a pastor and leader of one of the most influential churches in the Assemblies of God in New Zealand. He was a published author and a General Superintendent of the NZ Assembly of God. Early ministry Williams received his training at a Bible College in Tauranga. In 1972 he moved with his wife Betty to become pastor of the Hamilton Assembly of God. During his ministry there his influence extended outside his local church through a series of conferences on church growth that attracted many from other Pentecostal denominations as well. In 1975 he became a member of the executive of the NZ AoG. Leadership and influence In 1979 Williams followed Frank Houston as General Superintendent of the NZ AoG. Jim Williams ( – March 6, 1871) was an African-American soldier and militia leader in the 1860s and 1870s in York County, South Carolina. He escaped slavery during the US Civil War and joined the Union Army. After the war, Williams led a black militia organization which sought to protect black rights in the area. In 1871, he was lynched and hung by members of the local Ku Klux Klan. As a result, a large group of local blacks immigrated to Liberia, West Africa. Early life Williams was born James Rainey in York County, South Carolina, on the plantation of Samuel Rainey about from Yorkville. He escaped from the Rainey plantation during the Civil War and joined the Union Army, where he eventually fought under General William Tecumseh Sherman in Georgia and the Carolinas. Williams (April 14, 1948 – June 12, 2011) was an analog circuit designer and technical author who worked for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1968–1979), Philbrick, National Semiconductor (1979–1982) and Linear Technology Corporation (LTC) (1982–2011). He wrote over 350 publications relating to analog circuit design, including five books, 21 application notes for National Semiconductor, 62 application notes for Linear Technology, and over 125 articles for EDN Magazine. Jim Williams (born 27 July 1984) is a Welsh professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Williams first ever rose to prominence in October 2012 at the Winmau World Masters in Hull. There he beat four players in the preliminary rounds to reach the main stage, most notably defeating reigning Lakeside World Champion Christian Kist 3–2 in his final match. Once on stage, he beat established campaigners Jan Dekker 3–1 and Ross Montgomery 3–2 to reach the quarter-finals, before losing out to eventual champion Stephen Bunting by 3 sets to 1.
