Jim Walls
James Walls is an American former police officer and video game designer. Walls joined the California Highway Patrol in 1971, retiring after 15 years on the force after a shooting incident that left him traumatized. During his recovery from the shooting incident, Walls met Ken Williams, who was then CEO of Sierra On-Line. Williams asked Walls to his house for a game of racquetball, and over drinks after the game, Ken told Walls of his idea of starting an adventure game series with a police genre. Williams told Walls that all he needed was a real police officer to be involved with the design in order to maintain realism. Following that meeting, Walls went on to become a game designer for Sierra On-Line (now Sierra Entertainment). ''Blue Force'' is an adventure game for MS-DOS released in 1993 by former ''Police Quest'' designer Jim Walls. Gameplay The game has certain similarities to ''Police Quest'', but has a constant inventory menu and points counter at the bottom, a dynamic displaying menu with five options (look, interact, walk, talk and options menu) and a police motorbike interface system. On the motorbike, the player can use the Ignition to travel to a destination and must use the radio to contact police headquarters when necessary and click the appropriate codes that match the situation. Westwood Studios, Inc. was an American video game developer, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was founded by Brett Sperry and Louis Castle in 1985 as Brelous Software, but got changed after 2 months into Westwood Associates and was renamed to Westwood Studios when Virgin Games (later Virgin Interactive Entertainment) bought the company in 1992. Albert William Lowe (born July 24, 1946) is an American video game designer, programmer, and musician who developed several adventure games, mostly for Sierra On-Line. He is best known for creating the ''Leisure Suit Larry'' series. He has also worked as a casting director, voice director, writer, director, producer, background photographer, actor and executive producer. Career Teaching, early programming Lowe began his career teaching public school music for 15 years. Roberta Williams
Roberta Lynn Williams (; born February 16, 1953) is an American video game designer and writer, who co-founded Sierra On-Line with her husband, game developer Ken Williams. In 1980, her first game, ''Mystery House'', became a modest commercial success; it is credited as the first graphic adventure game. She is also known for creating and maintaining the '' King's Quest'' series, as well as designing the full motion video game ''Phantasmagoria'' in 1995. Kenneth A. Williams (born October 30, 1954) is an American game programmer who co-founded On-Line Systems together with his wife Roberta Williams. On-Line Systems eventually became Sierra On-Line and was ultimately renamed Sierra Entertainment. The couple were leading figures in the development of graphical adventure games. At its height, Sierra employed nearly 1,000 people prior to its acquisition in 1996. ''Blade Runner'' is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Westwood Studios and published by Virgin Interactive for Microsoft Windows, released on November 14, 1997.
