Jim Riley is an American musician, and the drummer for the country band Rascal Flatts. He regularly teaches drums, and has also performed in several awards shows. Riley attended the University of North Texas, graduating with a degree in music education. He is sponsored by Ludwig, Sabian, Remo, Gibraltar, Latin Percussion, Vater, LP Roland, Shure and Innovative percussion. Riley was voted "Best Country Drummer" by ''Modern Drummer'' magazine in 2017. James Glen Riley (born July 6, 1945) is a former American football defensive end who played professionally for the Miami Dolphins in the American Football League (AFL) and in the National Football League (NFL). Riley played college football at the University of Oklahoma. He started in Super Bowl VI. James Denis Riley (born 26 January 1948) is a former New Zealand cricketer who made 40 first-class appearances for Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury between 1968 and 1977. A left-handed batsman who usually opened the innings, Riley scored 1,993 runs at an average of 32.14, with a highest score of 130 when he opened the batting for Auckland against Northern Districts in January 1974. He captained the New Zealand Under-23 cricket team in their annual first-class match in February 1971. In 1976–77 he and Austin Parsons put on 169 for the opening stand, which remained a record for Auckland against Otago until 2001–02; Riley made 121 not out In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. James Joseph Riley (November 10, 1886 – March 25, 1949) was a Major League Baseball player. He played one game with the Boston Doves on August 2, 1910. James Norman Riley (May 25, 1895 – May 25, 1969) was a Canadian professional ice hockey and baseball player. The only person to play in both the National Hockey League (NHL) and Major League Baseball (MLB), Riley played nine games in the NHL in 1926–27 and six games in MLB between 1921 and 1923. In hockey he also played eight seasons in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, a rival major league of the NHL, in a career that lased from 1915 to 1929. While in the PCHA he mainly played for the Seattle Metropolitans, and won the Stanley Cup in 1917. Riley's baseball career lasted 12 seasons from 1921 to 1932, and was mainly spent in the minor leagues. Early life Born in Bayfield, New Brunswick. Kinch 'James' Riley (c. 1853 – ?) was a young man from Kansas who, on August 19, 1871 was the deciding factor in a little-known but deadly gunfight, which became known as the Gunfight at Hide Park, that took place in Newton, Kansas. The gunfight, despite being lesser known than either the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral or the Four Dead in Five Seconds Gunfight, resulted in more dead. Identity and origins Where Kinch 'James' Riley came from is unknown. It is believed that he was born in Kansas, but as to where in Kansas is unknown. He first surfaced in Newton around 1869. He was thought to be suffering from tuberculosis, and was a loner. Mike McCluskie, a local gambler from Ohio and sometime lawman, took him in. Riley was often seen in the presence of McCluskie, but otherwise went unnoticed, and was never known to have been in any trouble.
