James Rice (writer)
James Rice (26 September 1843 – 26 April 1882), English novelist, wrote a number of successful novels in collaboration with Walter Besant. He was born in Northampton, and was educated at Cambridge University. He studied law, becoming a lawyer of Lincoln's Inn in 1871. In 1868 he bought the publication '' Once a Week''. It was loss-making, but made him acquainted with Besant. Together they had a successful collaboration, ended by Rice's death. He died in Redhill. ''Survivor'' is an American reality television show, based on the Swedish program, '' Expedition Robinson''. Contestants are referred to as "castaways" and they compete against one another to become the "Sole Survivor" and win one million U.S. dollars. First airing in 2000, there currently have been a total of 43 seasons aired; the program itself has been filmed on five continents. Contestants usually apply to be on the show, but the series has been known to recruit contestants for various seasons. James Montgomery Rice
James Montgomery Rice (March 8, 1842 – April 11, 1912) was an American soldier (Colonel), lawyer, and member of the Illinois House of Representatives who contributed to the establishment of the United States National Guard. Early life Rice was born in Monmouth, Illinois, to George and Caroline (née Montgomery) Rice. He was named after his second great-grandfather, William Montgomery, whose vaunted military and political service was a major influence on his life. American Civil War Following the First Battle of Bull Run, Rice left Monmouth College to enlist in the 10th Illinois Infantry Regiment. After three years of continuous service, which covered 1,000 marched miles and 13 battles, he was discharged on September 18, 1864. James Isaac "Jim" Rice (October 12, 1925 – October 15, 1996) was an American politician. Rice lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis. He lived in Minneapolis with his wife and family and served in the United States Army during World War II. Rice graduated from University of Minnesota and worked for the Governor of Minnesota Karl Rolvaag serving as executive secretary. He also served on the Hennepin County Park Commission. Rice served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1971 until his death in 1996. He was a Democrat. Jim Rice is an American politician serving as a member of the Idaho Senate from the 10th district. He was appointed to the seat in March 2012 by Idaho Governor Butch Otter. James Rice (dates unknown) was an English Amateur status in first-class cricket, amateur cricketer during the Napoleonic Wars. Career Rice made 3 known appearances in first-class cricket, first-class matches from 1811 to 1813.Arthur Haygarth, ''Scores & Biographies'', Volume 1 (1744–1826), Lillywhite, 1862 He is not known to have been attached to any particular club although, as an amateur who played all his first-class games at Lord's Middle Ground, it is possible he was a member of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which was based at that venue. The matches in which Rice appeared were the only first-class fixtures of the three seasons in question. Cricket at this time had been badly impacted by a loss of both investment and manpower caused by the Napoleonic Wars. The matches were also the only first-class matches recorded on Lord's Middle Ground so Rice played his entire first-class career at that ground.

Jim Rice (born July 10, 1947) is an American former professional motorcycle racer who is an inductee of both the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and the TrailBlazers Hall of Fame. During his career in the late 1960s and early 1970s he won 12 national races and finished in the top 10 of the championship three times. All but one of his victories were on BSA machines. Footage of Rice's crash in qualifying for the 1970 Sacramento Mile was used in Bruce Brown's film On Any Sunday. Early life Rice was born on July 10, 1947, in Wooster, Ohio. As a teenager Rice started working on and driving drag cars at West Salem's Dragway 42. When he was 16 he moved to Palo Alto, California, and brought a 50 cc Honda. James Louis Rice (1730–1793) was an Irish count of the Holy Roman Empire, duelist and a close friend of Emperor Joseph II. Rice was involved in a plot to save Marie Antoinette during her imprisonment in France and take her to his home in Dingle, Ireland. James Clay Rice (December 27, 1828 – May 10, 1864) was a lawyer from Massachusetts, who became a brigadier general of volunteers in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Early life Rice was born in Worthington, Massachusetts on December 27, 1828 to William Rice and Welthea (Cottrell) Rice.
