James Louis Chapman (born March 8, 1945) is an American business and political leader. From 1985 to 1997, he served as Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Congressman representing the Texas's 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives. His home town was Sulphur Springs, Texas, Sulphur Springs. Early life Chapman was born in Washington, D.C. He attended public schools in Sulphur Springs; he received an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin (1968) and a Juris Doctor, J.D. degree from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas (1970). Jim Chapman Lake
Jim Chapman Lake (also known as Cooper Lake) is a impoundment operated by the Army Corps of Engineers and is located east of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in the state of Texas. The reservoir was created by the 1991 Jim Chapman Dam and impounds the South Sulphur River, a fork of the Sulphur River. It provides water supply storage for the North Texas Municipal Water District, the Sulphur River Municipal Water District. The lake is known as a preferred location for fishing in the region. Species likely to be caught are blue and channel catfish, Florida largemouth bass, crappie, and hybrid striped bass. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Cooper Lake State Park is located on Jim Chapman Lake. James McMillan Chapman (born 26 July 1965) is a Scottish football player and coach who is currently in his second spell as manager of Kilmarnock FC Women. Chapman played for Albion Rovers and Dumbarton as a forward. He has previously managed Annan Athletic, Albion Rovers, Dumbarton and Clyde. He married Carlyn Greenham in 1979. Work as musician Having played with several bands since 1964, Chapman dropped out of school in 1966 to pursue his teenage dreams of rock and roll stardom. In 1968, his band, "The Bluesmen Revue" signed a recording contract with Columbia Records in the U.S. that saw the release of "Spin the Bottle", a local hit. He served as the head football coach at Case Western Reserve University from 1982 to 1986 and at Mercyhurst College—now known as Mercyhurst University—from 1990 to 1992, compiling a career college football coaching record of 47–23–2.
