Jilin Horoc is a China company that is interested in the nonferrous metals. It is mainly interested in nickel products. It owns, through a subsidiary structure, 100% of the Nunavik Nickel mine. History In September 2003, Jilin Jien Nickel Industry Co. was listed on the A-share market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange with the stock code 600432. Jilin Jien is a subsidiary of Jilin Horoc. In 2009 Jilin Jien bought for $192.5 million a distressed property named Canadian Royalties, which held the Nunavik mine outright. By 2013 Jilin Jien had invested $800 million more in the Nunavik mine. Jilin
Jilin (; alternately romanized as Kirin or Chilin) is one of the three provinces of Northeast China. Its capital and largest city is Changchun. Jilin borders North Korea (Rasŏn, North Hamgyong, Ryanggang and Chagang) and Russia (Primorsky Krai) to the east, Heilongjiang to the north, Liaoning to the south, and Inner Mongolia to the west. Along with the rest of Northeast China, Jilin underwent an early period of industrialization. However, Jilin's economy, characterized by heavy industry, has been facing economic difficulties with privatization. This prompted the central government to undertake a campaign called "Revitalize the Northeast". The region contains large deposits of oil shale. Jilin City
Jilin City (), alternately romanized as Kirin, is the second-largest city and former capital of Jilin province in northeast China. As of the 2020 census, 3,623,713 people resided within its administrative area of and 1,895,865 in its built-up (''or metro'') area consisting of four urban districts. A prefecture-level city, it is the only major city nationally that shares its name with its province. Jilin City is also known as the ''River City'' because of the Songhua River surrounding much of the city. In 2007, it co-hosted the Asian Winter Games. Erdao District () is one of seven districts of the prefecture-level city of Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province, Northeast China. Xu Jilin
Xu Jilin (born 1957; ) is a Chinese historian. He is a professor of history at East China Normal University, and specializes in 20th century Chinese intellectual history. Early life Born in 1957 in Shanghai, Xu Jilin dropped out of school and became a librarian because of the Cultural Revolution. As time passed, he eventually decided to pursue further education after passing National Higher Education Entrance Examination. He studied policy at East China Normal University. Career In 1982 Xu graduated with a Bachelor's degree. He became a university lecturer. From 1997 to 2003, Xu Jilin traveled to three universities as a visiting professor and visiting scholar: the Harvard–Yenching Institute, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Tokyo. Zhang Jilin (; born June 24, 1986) is a Chinese and Australian chess player holding the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM). She competed in the Women's World Chess Championship in 2008. Career Zhang Jilin first represented China in the World Youth Chess Championship, World Youth Chess Festival in Menorca in 1996. She played then three times subsequently at the World Junior Chess Championship, World Girls U-20 Championship in 2004, 2005 and 2006, finishing in the top ten on all three occasions.
