Jesper Thygesen
Jesper Thygesen (born 20 September 1969) is a Danish football director, commentator, and former player. From 1991 to 2005, Thygesen played 296 games and scored 45 goals in the Danish Superliga. He played in the midfielder position, and represented Ikast FS, Silkeborg IF, Brøndby IF, and Randers FC, winning the 1998 Superliga and 1998 Danish Cup with Brøndby. He played 27 national youth team games, and represented the Denmark League XI national football team on seven occasions in 1997 and 1998. He started his youth career with Randers Freja, before getting his breakthrough with Ikast FS. He returned to the Randers club, now known as Randers FC, in 2003, and ended his career with the team in 2005. He was a playing assistant manager in his final year in Randers FC. He was appointed as Director of the new Randers Football College in 2005, working there until the summer 2009. He served temporarily as attacking coach for Randers FC in the spring 2009. Danish Cup
The Danish Cup ( da, Landspokalturneringen; often referred to as Pokalen) is the official "knockout" cup competition in Danish football, run by the Danish Football Association. The cup has been contested annually since 1955. The winner will qualify for the UEFA Europa League tournament the following year, where they (as of the 2009–10 season) will enter in the third qualifying round. The latest edition, 2017-18 Danish Cup, was won by Superliga-side Brøndby, beating Superliga-side Silkeborg 3–1 on 10 May 2018 at Parken Stadium, thereby winning their first domestic trophy since 2008. Denmark League XI National Football Team
The Denmark League XI national football team is an unofficial national football team run by the Danish Football Association. The team generally consists of Danish players playing in the Danish Superliga, or other leagues if their clubs agree to release them. It is only assembled in the start of the year, during the winter break in the Superliga. The matches of the League XI have generally not been recognised as official matches by the Danish FA, although FIFA recognised matches until 2007. History A Danish Football Combination played the Scottish League XI in 1955. Since 1983, the team has been assembled every year except 2005 (because of an early World Cup qualification match) and 2011 (where no suitable trip could be arranged) in January or February. Randers Sportsklub Freja (often abbreviated Randers Freja) is a Danish sport club with teams in athletics, handball, table tennis and football. History Randers Freja was founded in 1898, and was accepted into the JBU in 1907. The football department, under the name Randers Freja FC, was established in the late 1990s.
