Jeremy Huw Williams (born 3 April 1969) is a Welsh baritone opera singer, known for his work in contemporary classical music. Early life and education Williams was born in Cardiff. He studied at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, Cardiff, St John's College, Cambridge, at the National Opera Studio, London, and with April Cantelo. Career Williams has appeared for Welsh National Opera, Opera Ireland and Music Theatre Wales amongst others, and has released numerous recordings, most notably of music by contemporary Welsh composers, including Alun Hoddinott, William Mathias and Mansel Thomas. In addition to these he has also given premieres of works by composers John Tavener, Martin Butler, John Metcalf, Julian Phillips, Edward Dudley Hughes, Ian Wilson, Richard Causton, Edward Rushton, Arlene Sierra and Huw Watkins. Jeremy Williams (born August 19, 1972) is an American former professional boxer and mixed martial artist. He challenged once for the WBO heavyweight title in 1996. Amateur career As an amateur, he was the 1989 and 1990 United States amateur Light Heavyweight 1989 heavyweight Jr. Olympic champion and the 1990 and 1991 National Golden Gloves Light Heavyweight champion, and is a member of the Golden Gloves hall of fame. He was a bronze medalist in the 1990 Goodwill Games in the 81 kg division, being knocked out cold with a right cross thrown by the Soviet Andrey Kurnyavka in the quarterfinals after a three-round slugfest (Kurnyavka later told that this was the toughest of his 350 fights.) At the 1991 match-up he was again knocked out cold in the 3rd round via left hook by the Soviet Sergey Klokov. Jeremy Williams (born January 26, 1984) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who currently plays for Heilbronner Falken of the DEL2. Playing career Williams was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs 220th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Williams scored a goal in each of his first three games in the NHL, with each game coming in a different season — he is likely the only player to achieve the odd feat. His NHL debut came on April 18, 2006, versus the Pittsburgh Penguins, which was the Leafs' last game of the season. He scored his first NHL goal on his first NHL shot in a 5-3 victory. The Leafs failed to qualify for the playoffs, and he was sent down to the Marlies. He was recalled to the Leafs on February 23, 2007, and played against the Montreal Canadiens. Jeremy Williams (born August 9, 1991) is an American football defensive back who is a free agent. He played college football at Hinds and Henderson State. He has been a member of the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Early years Williams played high school football at Raymond High School in Raymond, Mississippi. He earned All-District honors three times. He garnered District 3A MVP and Second-Team All-State recognition his senior season after recording 97 tackles and seven interceptions. Williams also lettered in basketball and track.
