''Jeffrey Archer's Prison Diaries by FF 8282'' is the authorised theatrical adaptation of Jeffrey Archer's three-volume diary of his time in jail (which was published as '' A Prison Diary''). "FF 8282" was Archer's prisoner number while incarcerated. Norman Hudis
Norman Hudis (27 July 1922 – 8 February 2016) was an English writer for film, theatre and television, and is most closely associated with the first six of the ''Carry On (series), Carry On...'' film series, for which he wrote the screenplays until he was replaced by Talbot Rothwell. Life and career Born in Stepney, London, Hudis began his writing career on a local newspaper, the ''Hampstead & Highgate Express''. When World War II broke out, Hudis joined the RAF and served in the Middle East writing for ''Air Force News''. Like many other post-war writers his first foray into entertainment was writing for camp concerts. After the war Hudis decided to become a playwright, but only one of his plays ''Here Is The News'' met with critical success. Jeffrey Howard Archer, Baron Archer of Weston-super-Mare (born 15 April 1940) is an English novelist, life peer, convicted criminal, and former politician. Before becoming an author, Archer was a Member of Parliament (1969–1974), but did not seek re-election after a financial scandal that left him almost bankrupt. Archer revived his fortunes as a novelist. His 1979 novel ''Kane and Abel'' remains one of the best-selling books in the world, with an estimated 34 million copies sold worldwide. Overall his books have sold more than 320 million copies worldwide. Archer became deputy chairman of the Conservative Party (1985–86), before resigning after a newspaper accused him of paying money to a prostitute. A Prison Diary
''A Prison Diary'' is a series of three books of diaries written by Jeffrey Archer during his time in prisons following his convictions for perjury and perverting the course of justice. Each volume is named after a part of Dante's ''The Divine Comedy''. The volumes become progressively longer due to his stay being longer and longer at each prison in which he was confined. Volume 1: ''Belmarsh: Hell'' This book, written under the nom de plume ''FF 8282'', documents Archer's introduction to the prison system. He was to spend the first 22 days and 14 hours in HMP Belmarsh, a double A-Category high-security prison in South London. Although Archer spent less than a month there, Belmarsh is described as a real hell-hole. Despite this, many of the inmates are extremely kind to him and regale him with anecdotes, which he duly records. Marcus Andrew Sinden (born 9 May 1954) is an English actor and film & theatre director and producer. Sinden has worked in film and theatre (mainly in London's West End) as both actor and producer and directed the documentary series ''Great West End Theatres'', detailing the history of the 40 major playhouses in London. He was artistic director of the Mermaid Theatre and inaugurated the British Theatre Season in Monaco, which was awarded a Royal Warrant by Prince Albert of Monaco.
