Jean De La Chambre
Jean de la Chambre (1605, Haarlem – 1668, Haarlem) was an engraver and calligrapher in the Dutch Golden Age, best known today for his portrait by Frans Hals, which is in the collection of the National Gallery in London. Biography His parents were originally from Cambrai and travelled via Antwerp north to escape the troubles of the Fall of Antwerp, settling in Haarlem where Jean was later born. Like his contemporary Nicolaes Boddingius, he was probably a student of the Haarlem schoolmasters Peter Heyns, Jan van de Velde the Elder or Jacob van der Schuere. Jan De Bray
Jan de Bray (c. 1627 – April 4, 1697) was a Dutch Golden Age painter. He lived and worked in Haarlem until the age of 60, when he went bankrupt and moved to Amsterdam. Jan de Bray was influenced by his father Salomon de Bray, and the portraitists Bartholomeus van der Helst, and Frans Hals. De Bray's works are mainly portraits, often of groups, and history paintings. He specialised in combining the two genres in the portrait historié, portraits of historical figures using contemporary figures, including himself and his family. Among his finest works are two versions of the ''Banquet of Cleopatra'', using his own family, including himself, as models (Royal Collection, 1652, and Currier Museum of Art, New Hampshire, 1669). Beverwijk
Beverwijk () is a municipality and a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The town is located about northwest of Amsterdam in the Randstad metropolitan area, north of the North Sea Canal very close to the North Sea coast.
