Jaxson Stauber
Jaxson Stauber (born April 27, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Stauber played for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League (USHL) from 2017 until 2019 when he committed to play for the Minnesota State University, Mankato. He played one game with Minnesota State and the returned to Stampede on November 26, 2019. On February 9, 2020, Stauber committed to play for Providence College. After two seasons with Providence College, Stauber opted to turn professional and on March 23, 2022, signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. In his NHL debut on January 21, 2023, Stauber made 29 saves in the Blackhawks' 5–3 win over the St. Louis Blues. Wayzata, Minnesota
Wayzata ( ) is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. A western suburb of the Twin Cities, Wayzata is situated along the northern shore of Lake Minnetonka about west of Minneapolis. 2020–21 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on November 14, 2020 and concluded with the Frozen Four on April 10, 2021. Due to the cancellation of the previous year's tournament due to COVID-19 pandemic, this was the 73rd season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and was US college hockey's 127th year overall. Due to concerns related to the pandemic, the start of the season was delayed until what would have normally been the 8th week of play. Despite having to contend with contend with cancellations and delays due to the pandemic, the season was completed. Massachusetts won their first National Championship, ending the 4-year run of NCHC teams. 2019–20 USHL Season
The 2019–20 USHL season was the 41st season of the United States Hockey League as an all-junior league. The regular season ran from September 26, 2019, to March 12, 2020. At the end of the previous season, the Central Illinois Flying Aces ceased operations dropping the league to 16 teams. On March 12, 2020, the USHL Board of Directors announced the unanimous decision to suspend play due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On March 18, 2020, the league cancelled the remainder of the regular season and 2020 Clark Cup playoffs, citing concerns for the health and safety of players and team personnel. On April 1, 2020, the Chicago Steel were named the regular season champions and awarded the Anderson Cup for accumulating 83 points in 49 games. Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The men's side of the league officially disbanded after seven members left to form the revived Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); the WCHA remains in operation as a women-only league. This would have been the 73rd season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and was US college hockey's 126th year overall. However, the postseason tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In February, seven members that had previously announced their withdrawal from the WCHA following the 2020–21 season announced that they were reforming the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, and that the new conference would begin play with the 2021–22 season. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA, along with several conferences, decided to ban spectators from attending many of the games played after March 10, 2020, including the 2020 Frozen Four. The 2017–18 USHL season was the 39th season of the United States Hockey League as an all-junior league. The regular season ran from October 6, 2017, to April 14, 2018. The regular season champions, the Waterloo Black Hawks, were awarded the Anderson Cup. The playoff champions, the Fargo Force, were awarded the Clark Cup. League changes The Bloomington Thunder were rebranded as the Central Illinois Flying Aces. While the alignment remained the same from the previous season, the league increased the number of teams that qualify for the playoffs from eight to twelve. T1EHL
The Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL), formerly Midwest Elite Hockey League, is located primarily in the Midwest United States and is the premier amateur youth hockey league in the United States. Players from all over the country move to the area where the teams are located to gain exposure and skill development needed for higher levels. Many of the league's top players go on to compete at the Major Junior, NCAA, and NHL level.
