Jason Johnson (Australian Footballer)
Jason Johnson (born 25 January 1978) is a retired Australian rules footballer who spent his entire professional career with Essendon of the Australian Football League (AFL). Known as a tireless running midfielder, Johnson's career honours include All-Australian selection in 2001, the same year he won the W.S. Crichton Medal for Essendon's best and fairest player. In the same year, he was considered to be the best on ground in the famous Round 16 game between Essendon and North Melbourne in which Essendon came back from 69 points, a record comeback in VFL/AFL which remains to this day. In the game, he polled three Brownlow Medal votes, had 31 disposals, 13 clearances, 10 inside-50s, and kicked four goals. It is considered to be the best game of his career. On 25 August 2008, Johnson and long-time teammate Adam Ramanauskas announced their intention to retire from football at the end of the 2008 AFL season. Assumption College, Kilmore
Assumption College (often known as ACK, where the K stands for Kilmore) is an Australian Catholic co-educational secondary day and boarding school. The school is located in the town of Kilmore, Victoria. The College was founded in 1893 by the Marist Brothers and is part of a network of Marist schools in Australia and throughout the world. Assumption College first took in boarders 1901 to meet the educational needs of Catholic families throughout regional Victoria and southern New South Wales. Established initially as a boys' school primarily accepting boarders, the proportion of day students has progressively grown since the 1970s and boarding numbers have diminished. The 1997 AFL season was the 101st season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season ran from 27 March until 27 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. Before the season, the Port Adelaide Football Club (SANFL) was admitted to the league, increasing the South Australian membership to two clubs. Foundation club Fitzroy, which had gone into administration in 1996, merged with the Brisbane Bears to form a new Queensland-based club known as the Brisbane Lions. The Footscray Football Club changed its name to the Western Bulldogs. With these changes, the league's size remained at sixteen clubs.
