Jasbir Singh Bajaj
Jasbir Singh Bajaj was an Indian physician and diabetologist. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, for his outstanding contribution to the medical sciences and research, and his efforts to improve the healthcare delivery system. Earlier he was decorated with the Padma Shri in 1981 and the Padma Bhushan in 1982. He was the ninth person in the country to receive the award for services in the field of medicine and research. Bajaj was a member (health) of the Planning Commission with the rank of Minister of state in 1991–98. He joined the AIIMS faculty in 1966 and in 1979 was appointed professor and head of medicine. He was appointed honorary physician to the President of India during 1977-1982 and again from 1987 to 1992. He was also consultant physician to the Prime minister from 1991 to 1996. Jasbir Singh Bains (born 7 February 1970), better known by his stage name Jasbir Jassi, is an Indian singer, lyricist, performer and actor. he has released thirteen albums, his first pop album being ''Dil Le Gayee'', released in 1998 with Times Music. Early life Bains, was born in Dalia Mirjanpur village, Gurdaspur, Punjab, India, to Sikh parents Ajit Singh and mother Prakash Kaur and brought up along with his two elder sisters. A first generation musician, he participated in musical plays such "Sadha Bugdu Bulo", and gave performances at the North Zone Cultural Centre. Jasbir Sandhu (born April 21, 1966) is a former Canadian politician. He was a Member of Parliament in the 41st Parliament. He was elected to the House of Commons in the 2011 federal election and represented the electoral district of Surrey North for the New Democratic Party. He served as the Official Opposition's critic on Public Safety and for the Asia-Pacific Gateway project. He sought re-election in 2015 but lost to Randeep Sarai of the Liberal Party. As a child, Sandhu immigrated to Canada where he completed high school and graduated from Simon Fraser University and Royal Roads University with a MBA. Air Marshal Jasbir Walia PVSM, VM, VSM, ADC was the commander-in-chief of Strategic Forces Command of the Indian Armed Forces from 1 August 2016 to 31 March 2019. Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1979, Walia has held several important appointments as a commanding officer, at Air Headquarters, at the headquarters of various commands of the Indian Air Force (IAF), as an attaché, and has also served as an instructor and as a deputy commandant of various training academies.
