Jarrod McKay
Jarrod McKay (born 8 June 2000) is a New Zealand cricketer. He made his first-class debut on 30 October 2019, for Central Districts in the 2019–20 Plunket Shield season. He made his List A debut on 1 December 2020, for Central Districts in the 2020–21 Ford Trophy. Fast Bowling
Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. Practitioners of pace bowling are usually known as ''fast'' bowlers, ''quicks'', or ''pacemen''. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Nelson College
Nelson College is the oldest state secondary school in New Zealand. It is an all-boys school in the City of Nelson that teaches from years 9 to 13. In addition, it runs a private preparatory school for year 7 and 8 boys. The school also has places for boarders, who live in two boarding houses adjacent to the main school buildings on the same campus. It was a Nelson College old boy, Charles Monro, who was instrumental in introducing the game of rugby into New Zealand. 2022–23 Super Smash (men's Cricket)
The 2022–23 Dream11 Super Smash was the eighteenth season of the men's Super Smash Twenty20 cricket competition played in New Zealand. It took place between 23 December 2022 and 11 February 2023, with 6 provincial teams taking part. Northern Brave were the defending champions. The tournament ran running alongside the 2022–23 Plunket Shield and 2022–23 Ford Trophy. Northern Brave won the tournament after beating Canterbury Kings in the final, winning their fourth title. Competition format Teams played in a double round-robin in a group of six, therefore playing 10 matches overall. Matches were played using a Twenty20 format. The top team in the group advanced straight to the final, whilst the second and third placed teams played off in an elimination final. 2020–21 Ford Trophy
The 2020–21 Ford Trophy was the 50th season of The Ford Trophy, the List A cricket tournament that was played in New Zealand. It was the tenth in a sponsorship deal between New Zealand Cricket and Ford Motor Company. It started on 29 November 2020 and finished on 6 March 2021. Auckland were the defending champions. On 15 June 2020, New Zealand Cricket announced the first round of contracts for domestic teams ahead of the 2020–21 season. The full schedule for the tournament was confirmed on 8 October 2020. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Northern Districts and Wellington progressed to the preliminary final, with Canterbury topping the group and advancing directly to the tournament's final. Northern Districts won the rain-affected preliminary final by 138 runs to join Canterbury in the final of the tournament. Central Districts
The Central Stags, formerly known as Central Districts, are a first-class cricket team based in central New Zealand. They are the men's representative side of the Central Districts Cricket Association. They compete in the Plunket Shield first-class competition, The Ford Trophy domestic one-day competition and the Men's Super Smash Twenty20 competition. 2019–20 Plunket Shield Season
The 2019–20 Plunket Shield was the 91st season of the Plunket Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in New Zealand. It took place between October 2019 and March 2020. As per the previous edition of the competition, the tournament was scheduled to feature eight rounds of matches. Central Districts were the defending champions. In round two of the tournament, Michael Snedden became the first fourth-generation cricketer to play first-class cricket in New Zealand, when he made his debut for Wellington. In round five, Mark Chapman and Joe Carter scored centuries in both innings for Auckland, the first time that two batsman had scored a century in each innings in the same match in the Plunket Shield.
