Jaroslav Durych
Jaroslav Durych (2 December 1886 – 7 April 1962) was a Czech Republic, Czech prose writer, poet, playwright, journalist, and military surgeon. Life and works Durych was born in Hradec Králové and was orphaned at an early age. He attended school at the Archbishop's convent in Příbram, but was expelled for reading forbidden literature. Later, he was able to attend medical school in Prague, thanks to a military scholarship, and graduated in 1913. After serving as a military doctor in Galicia (eastern Europe), Galicia during World War I, he established a private practice in Přerov. This proved to be an unsuccessful enterprise, however, and he returned to the Army; rising to the rank of Colonel. From 1923 to 1930, he served as the head of the military hospital near Olomouc. Jaroslav (also written as Yaroslav (other), Yaroslav or Jarosław (other), Jarosław in other Slavic languages) is a Slavic name, Czech and Slovak first name, pagan in origin. There are several possible origins of the name Jaroslav. It is very likely that originally the two elements of the name referred to ''Jarilo'' - male Proto-Slavic deity of the sun, spring, and fertility, and ''slav'' meaning glory, i.e. "glory of the sun". Frederick V Of The Palatinate
Frederick V (german: link=no, Friedrich; 26 August 1596 – 29 November 1632) was the Elector Palatine of the Rhine in the Holy Roman Empire from 1610 to 1623, and reigned as King of Bohemia from 1619 to 1620. He was forced to abdicate both roles, and the brevity of his reign in Bohemia earned him the derisive sobriquet "the Winter King" ( Czech: ''Zimní král''; German: ''Winterkönig''). Frederick was born at the hunting lodge (german: Jagdschloss) in Deinschwang, Palatinate (present-day Lauterhofen, Germany).
