The Japanese national under-18 and under-19 basketball team represents Japan in international basketball competitions. It is administered by the Japan Basketball Association. It represents the country in international under-19 and under-18 (under age 19 and under age 18) basketball competitions. At the 2017 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, Japan finished 10th, ahead of every competitor from FIBA Oceania, FIBA Asia and FIBA Africa. 2017 FIBA Under-19 World Cup
The 2017 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup (Arabic: 2017 كأس العالم لكرة السلة تحت 19 سنة فيبا) was the 13th edition of the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup, the biennial international men's youth basketball championship contested by the U19 national teams of the member associations of FIBA. It was held in Cairo, Egypt from 1 to 9 July 2017. Canada won the gold medal by defeating Italy in the final match 79–60. This marked Canada's best ever international FIBA tournament finish in any event. The Japan women's national under-18 and under-19 basketball team is the national basketball team of Japan and is governed by the Japan Basketball Association. It represents the country in international under-19 and under-18 (under age 19 and under age 18) women's basketball competitions. The Japan national basketball team is administered by the Japan Basketball Association (JBA), (Japanese: 日本バスケットボール協会, ''Nihon Basukettobōru Kyōkai''). Isaiah Murphy
, also known as , is a Japanese professional basketball player for Hiroshima Dragonflies of the B.League. Early life Enomoto was born in Okinawa to a Japanese mother, Fusako, and an American father, James, who was stationed there while serving in the Air Force. He moved to Misawa and Anchorage, Alaska before settling in Arizona during his sophomore season of high school. College career Enomoto considered joining the Air Force before deciding to attend Pima Community College. As a sophomore, he led the Aztecs to an NJCAA Division II runner-up finish. Enomato averaged 15.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and was selected first team All-ACCAC. Following the season, he transferred to Eastern New Mexico. Kai Toews
Kai Toews (テーブス海, born September 17, 1998) is a Japanese professional basketball player who currently plays for the Shiga Lakes of the B. League. His cousin Jonathan Toews played for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League from 2007 to 2023. Early life Toews grew up playing soccer before starting to play basketball in fourth grade. His father, former professional player BT Toews, taught him the fundamentals of the game. Growing up, Toews cited Allen Iverson as his favorite basketball player. Toews attended Keihoku High School for his freshman and sophomore years and was recruited by Japanese universities but had higher ambitions. is a Japanese professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs and is a member of the Japanese national team. Listed at and 230 lbs (104 kg), he plays both the small forward and power forward positions.
