Japan Men's National Field Hockey Team
The Japan men's national field hockey team represents Japan in men's international field hockey and is operated by the Japan Hockey Association. As of January 2019, they are ranked 18th in the world. The team participated in the first World Cup in 1971, where they finished 9th. The team is coached by Dutchman Siegfried Aikman. At the 2018 Asian Games, they won their first international tournament by claiming the gold medal in the final against Malaysia. Japan Hockey Association
The Japan Hockey Association is the governing body of field hockey in Japan. It is affiliated to IHF International Hockey Federation and AHF Asian Hockey Federation. The headquarters of the federation are in Tokyo, Japan. Kazuyasu Misu is the President of the Japan Hockey Association and Nobuo Ishikawa is the General Secretary. Men's Asian Champions Trophy
The Men's Asian Champions Trophy is an event held annually by the Asian Hockey Federation (since 2011). It features Asia's top six field hockey teams during that hockey season competing in a round robin format. India and Pakistan are the joint most successful teams in this tournament's history. Field Hockey At The 2018 Asian Games
Field hockey at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, GBK Hockey Field, Jakarta, Indonesia from 19 August to 1 September 2018. Siegfried Aikman
Siegfried Gottlieb Aikman (born 28 April 1959) is a Dutch field hockey coach, who is currently the head coach of the Oman men's national field hockey team, Oman national team. He managed the Japanese team at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In December 2021, Aikman was named head coach of the Pakistan national hockey team. Men's FIH Hockey World Cup
The Men's FIH Hockey World Cup is an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was started in 1971. It is held every four years, bridging the four years between the Summer Olympics. Pakistan is the most successful team, having won the tournament four times. The Netherlands and Australia have each won three titles, and Germany has won two titles. Belgium and India have both won the tournament once. The 2018 tournament was held in Bhubaneswar, India from 28 November to 16 December. Belgium defeated Netherlands in a penalty shoot-out 3–2 after the match ended in a 0–0 draw to win their first World Cup title. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. 2021 Men's Asian Champions Trophy
The 2021 Men's Asian Champions Trophy was the sixth edition of the Men's Asian Champions Trophy, a men's field hockey tournament for the six best Asian national teams organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. It was originally scheduled to be held in from 17 to 27 November 2020 at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In August 2020 the Asian Hockey Federation announced that the tournament would be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia to 2021 to be held from 11 to 19 March 2021. In January 2021 the tournament was postponed again and it was planned to be held from 1 to 9 October 2021. The tournament was postponed again in September 2021 and was eventually held from 14 to 22 December 2021. The 2013 Men's Asian Champions Trophy was the third edition of the Men's Asian Champions Trophy. The tournament was held alongside the 2013 Women's Asian Champions Trophy, women's tournament in Kakamigara, Japan from 2 to 10 November 2013. The 6th Asian Games () were held from 9 to 20 December 1970 in Bangkok, Thailand.- - Seoul, South Korea, had been selected to host the 6th Games but it declined due to both financial reasons and security threats from neighboring North Korea.
