Jan Veenstra
Johannes Theodorus Veenstra (21 October 1942 – 27 October 2023) was a Dutch footballer who played as a defender. Career Born in Elden, Veenstra started his career at hometown club Vitesse in 1960 and scored 60 goals in 113 matches for the club. He was Vitesse's top goalscorer with 16 goals when they won the 1965–66 Tweede Divisie title, clinching promotion to the second tier. He then joined Go Ahead Eagles in 1967. Elden, Netherlands
Elden is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Arnhem, about 4 km southwest of the city centre. Elden was a separate municipality between 1813 and 1818, when it was merged with Elst. It became part of Arnhem in 1966. The village of Elden, on the south side of the Rhine, has now been completely surrounded by neighbourhoods of the city of Arnhem and is now an enclave. The village still has its own place name signs. Deventer
Deventer (; Sallands: ) is a city and municipality in the Salland historical region of the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. In 2020, Deventer had a population of 100,913. The city is largely situated on the east bank of the river IJssel, but it also has a small part of its territory on the west bank. In 2005 the municipality of Bathmen (with a population of about 5,000 people) was merged with Deventer as part of a national effort to reduce bureaucracy in the country. Deventer is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. The place is already mentioned in 9th-century sources of the Diocese of Utrecht. In a charter from 877 AD mentions seven hooves in ''Daventre portu'' (the Deventer harbor). In 952 AD, Deventer is mentioned as a city in a gift certificate from King Otto I.
