Jan Peters (footballer, Born 1954)
Johannes "Jan" Wilhelmus Peters (born 18 August 1954) is a Dutch former professional footballer and coach. Club career Nicknamed ''Jantje Breed'', as he was renowned for his passes to the side, Peters started his career with VV Germania and then played for NEC. He made his debut for NEC on 14 November 1971 in a home game against FC Groningen. In 1974, 19-year-old Peters attracted the interest of Ajax, where Hans Kraay Sr. had just become manager, but the transfer eventually fell through. In July 1977, he signed with AZ '67, where Kraay Sr. had now become manager. At AZ, Peters played together with players such as Ronald Spelbos, Peter Arntz, Kristen Nygaard, Kurt Welzl, Kees Kist and Pier Tol, a team which in the 1980–81 season won the Eredivisie title, the KNVB Cup, and reached the final of the UEFA Cup. AZ Alkmaar
Alkmaar Zaanstreek (), better known as AZ Alkmaar or simply AZ (), is a Dutch professional football club from Alkmaar and the Zaan district. The club plays in the Eredivisie, the highest professional football league in the Netherlands, and hosts home matches at the AFAS Stadion. AZ has won the Eredivisie twice, in 1980–81 and 2008–09. Kristen Nygaard Kristensen (born 9 September 1949) is a Danish former professional footballer who played for Dutch team AZ Alkmaar and several French clubs. He scored 11 goals in 36 games for the Denmark national team, and represented Denmark at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Career Born in Sunds near Herning, Nygaard started playing football with Holstebro BK. He moved to IHF Aarhus, whom he helped win promotion from the Danish 3rd Division in 1969, by scoring 25 goals in 22 league games. Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason. History The Eerste Divisie consists of 20 clubs, who play each other in a double round-robin league, with each club playing the other club home and away.
