Jan Grund
Jan Grund (born 22 July 1946) is a Norwegian academic. He graduated with the cand.oecon. degree in 1972. He was hired as rector of Akershus University College in December 2007, and assumed office in April 2008. He was formerly a professor of health administration at the Norwegian School of Management's Department of Public Governance. He has also been chair of Oslo Nye Teater and a member of the board of Oslo Kino and Black Box Teater. He is a son of Inger Louise Valle. Inger Louise Valle
Inger Louise Valle (28 November 1921 – 21 May 2006) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party, particularly noted for her efforts to reform the Norwegian penal system. She is the mother of professor Jan Grund. Biography She represented Akershus in the Norwegian Parliament in the period between 1977-1981. She also served as Minister of Administration and Consumer Affairs 1971-1972 and Minister of Family and Consumer Affairs in 1972, Minister of Justice and the Police 1973-1976 and 1976–1979, and Minister of Local Government Affairs 1979-1980. Valle also served in the local government of Bærum, and was Norway's first Consumer Ombudsman. Born into a privileged family and educated as an attorney, Valle was one of the first ministers of justice whose main career had been in politics. Ullern is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. History The borough has its name from an old farm, Norse ''Ullarin''. The first element is the genitive case of the name of the Norse god Ullr. The last element is ''vin'', meaning pasture or meadow. In Medieval times, the farm belonged to the monastery at Hovedøya. Following the Reformation in 1536, the farmland was separated between the crown and the local canon. Formally divided into lower and upper Ullern in 1740, both farms were bought by Herman Severin Løvenskiold, in 1878 and 1866 respectively. At the time, Ullern was a part of the rural municipality Aker. Signs of urbanization began in the 1800s, when Skøyen and areas along the Lysaker River, which divides Ullern from Bærum, began developing into industrial sites. The 1872 opening of the Drammen Line railway was a catalyst for further building activity, as were the 1912 opening of the Smestad Line and the 1919 extension of the Skøyen Line to Lilleaker. Oslo Kino is a Norwegian cinema company, based in Oslo. History Its creation was agreed to by the city authorities of Oslo in 1925, and the company was inaugurated on 1 January 1926 as ''Oslo Kinematografer''. It was a part of the Norwegian system of municipally-owned cinemas, superseding private ownership in the field. Only the Conservative Party and the Liberal Left Party voted against municipalization. These parties subsequently attempted to privatize cinemas in the years after 1926, but failed. An important motivation for municipal ownership was the surplus from the budget, which could be used for other cultural budget posts. Oslo Nye Teater is a theater located in Oslo, Norway. The theater has its main stage in its own theater house at Rosenkrantz' gate 10. It is one of Norway's most visited theatres. Oslo Nye Teater AS is wholly owned by Oslo Municipality. History The theater opened as Det Nye Teater on February 26, 1929.
