James Rouse (American Football)
James David Rouse (born December 18, 1966) is a former American football running back. He played collegiately for the Arkansas Razorbacks, and in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Bears. High school and college James Rouse was a high school star at Little Rock Parkview High School (now known as Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School), and later signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks under coach Ken Hatfield. Rouse played four years for the Razorbacks (1985, 1987–1989), rushing for 2887 yards and 39 touchdowns, while sharing the backfield with Barry Foster. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. Cotton Bowl Classic
The Cotton Bowl Classic (also known as the Cotton Bowl) is an American college football bowl game that has been held annually in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex since January 1, 1937. The game was originally played at its namesake stadium in Dallas before moving to Cowboys Stadium (now AT&T Stadium) in nearby Arlington in 2010. 1990 Chicago Bears Season
The 1990 Chicago Bears season was their 71st regular season and 20th postseason completed in the National Football League (NFL). The Bears were looking to return to the playoffs after missing them in 1989 and did so, winning their sixth NFC Central Division championship in seven seasons. With the change in playoff structuring that began in 1990, the Bears were not guaranteed a bye week for winning the division and had to play on Wild Card weekend. They defeated the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card round but were defeated by the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants at Giants Stadium in the Divisional Playoffs. This was also the last division title the Bears would win until 2001. Marvcus Raymond Patton (born May 1, 1967) is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 8th round of the 1990 NFL Draft. A 6'2", 239-lb. linebacker from UCLA, Patton played in 13 NFL seasons from 1990 to 2002 for the Bills, the Washington Redskins, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Terry Thomas Allen Jr. (born February 21, 1968) is a former American football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. Allen played college football for Clemson University. In the 1990 NFL Draft, he was selected in the ninth round by the Minnesota Vikings. The 1990 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 22–23, 1990, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. The Dallas Cowboys would have had the first overall pick in the draft for the second consecutive year by virtue of their league-worst 1–15 record in 1989. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). The Liberty Bowl is an annual American college football bowl game played in late December or early January since 1959. For its first five years, it was played at Philadelphia Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia before being held at Atlantic City (New Jersey) Convention Hall in 1964.
