James Peterson (figure Skater)
James Peterson is an American World and Olympic figure skating coach. Peterson began coaching in 2001 and coaches in Florida. He was the 2009 and 2010 Professional Skaters Association Developmental Coach of the Year making him one of the few coaches in history to win the award consecutively. He also has won the USOCm Developmental Coach of the year award in 2009. His former students include 2010 Olympians Caydee Denney & Jeremy Barrett, Amanda Evora & Mark Ladwig and 2007 U.S. Novice and 2009 U.S. Junior National Champions Tracy Tanovich and Michael Chau. Peterson's students Denney/Barrett and Evora/Ladwig made up the entire US Olympic pair team contingency at the Vancouver Games. Peterson also coached Felicia Zhang and Nathan Bartholomay who went to the 2014 Olympics and placed 12th. They won silver at U.S Nationals to earn their Olympic spot. Laura Handy
Laura Lynn Handy (born July 25, 1980, in Atlantic City, New Jersey) is an American pair skater. With partner Paul Binnebose, she is the 1999 U.S. senior national bronze medalist and 1999 World Junior silver medalist. Later that year, Binnebose suffered a skull fracture, and he never returned to competitive skating. Professional Skaters Association
The Professional Skaters Association International is the largest figure skating coaches association in the world. The PSA was founded on August 10, 1938, in Lake Placid, New York, as the American Skaters Guild, just two years (1936) after the Ice Teachers Guild was formed in England by Jacques Gerschwiler, Howard Nicholson, Gladys Hogg and Eric Van De Weyden. On January 21, 1950, at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the American Skaters Guild was reorganized and renamed the Professional Skaters Guild of America. In May 1995, the PSGA once again changed its identity to the Professional Skaters Association, International (PSA). Caydee Christine Denney (born June 22, 1993) is an American former competitive pair skater. With John Coughlin, she is the 2012 Four Continents silver medalist and 2012 U.S. national champion. With former partner Jeremy Barrett, Denney is the 2010 U.S. national champion. During the pairs short program at the 2010 Olympics, Denney and Barrett became the first team to land a throw triple Lutz jump at any Winter Olympic competition. Jeremy Barrett (born April 10, 1984) is an American former pair skater. With Caydee Denney, he became the 2010 U.S. national champion and competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics. During the pairs short program at the 2010 Olympics, Denney and Barrett became the first team to land a throw triple Lutz jump at any Winter Olympic competition. Amanda Evora
Amanda Evora (born November 17, 1984) is an American former competitive pair skater. She competed with Mark Ladwig. They are two-time (2010, 2011) U.S. silver medalists, 2012 U.S. bronze medalists and two-time (2007, 2009) U.S. pewter medalists. Personal life Evora was born in New York City. Her family moved to Houston in 1995. Before that, they had lived in Bahrain, Dallas, Texas, and Virginia. She is Filipino American. Her father is a chemical engineer. Mark Ladwig
Mark Ladwig (born May 6, 1980) is an American former competitive pair skater. He is best known for his partnership with Amanda Evora, with whom he competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics, placing tenth. They won bronze at an ISU Grand Prix event, the 2010 Cup of Russia, and two United States Figure Skating Championships, U.S. national silver medals. He later skated with Lindsay Davis (figure skater), Lindsay Davis for one season.
