James Alfred Nash (27 July 1871 – 24 July 1952), known as Jimmy Nash, was a Reform Party Member of Parliament in New Zealand and a Mayor of Palmerston North. Biography Nash was born in 1871 in Foxton to Ann Ellen Webster and Norman Nash. He won the Palmerston electorate (since renamed the Palmerston North electorate) in the 1918 Palmerston by-election after the death of David Buick, and held it to 1935, when he was defeated by the Labour candidate, Joe Hodgens in a three-person contest involving the town's mayor, Gus Mansford. James A. Nash (1938–2008) was one of the first Christian ecotheologians. In his book, ''Loving Nature: Ecological Integrity and Christian Responsibility'' Nash objected to the traditional Western religious approach to nature based on dominion and control, attempting to replace this by the view of Man as a member of the community of nature. Nash received a PhD in Social Ethics from Boston University in 1967. He served many for years as a journal editor, and was actively involved in the Society of Christian Ethics until his death. James Edwin Nash (born February 9, 1945), commonly known as Jim Nash, is a retired American professional baseball pitcher. He debuted on July 3, 1966 against the Detroit Tigers after then Kansas City Athletics signed him as a free agent. During his rookie season in 1966 he went 12–1 with a 2.06 earned run average in 127 innings pitched as part of the kiddie corps of pitchers featured in Kansas City. He also received the only two votes not won by Tommie Agee for the American League Rookie of the Year Award. On 16 October 2011 at the final round of the 2011 BTCC season he clinched the independents' championship. James Okey Nash (1862–1943) was the Anglican Coadjutor Bishop of Cape Town from 1917 until 1930. Nash was educated at King William's College, Isle of Man; Hertford College, Oxford and Ripon College Cuddesdon. He was ordained in 1888.
