James Moffat (author)
James Moffat (27 January 1922 – 8 November 1993) was a Canadian-born British writer who wrote at least 290 novels in several genres under at least 45 pseudonyms". Moffat produced many pulp novels for the United Kingdom publishing house New English Library during the 1970s. Moffat's pen names included Richard Allen, Etienne Aubin (''The Terror of the Seven Crypts'') and Trudi Maxwell (''Diary of A Female Wrestler''). Moffat's pulp novels mostly focused on youth subcultures of the late 1960s and 1970s, such as skinheads, hippies and bikers. In particular Moffat wrote a series of popular and commercially successful books featuring what came to be known as his most famous protagonist, the skinhead antihero Joe Hawkins. Moffat often expressed admiration for his subject matter and commented on social issues, mostly from a right-wing perspective. James Moffat is a mathematician. He was a boffin in the 1982 Falklands war. He wrote ''Complexity Theory and Network Centric Warfare'', which has 275 scholarly citations. Moffat is currently Professor of Physics at the University of Aberdeen, where he studies quantum gravity. He has published 135 articles. James Moffat (1775 – 1815) was a Scottish engraver who worked in India during the rule of the East Indian Company. Life He was an ethnic Scotsman but he spent most of his life in India. He had a son named John Moffat who worked as a photographer. Career He arrived in Calcutta in 1789 and worked as an engraver there. He joined the Calcutta Gazette in 1797. Jim Moffat
James Moffat (born 27 January 1960) is a Scottish former footballer and manager, currently without a club after being released by Montrose. He played as a goalkeeper for several Scottish lower league clubs. After retiring from playing in 2001, Moffat was appointed as the assistant manager at Stirling Albion. He then became the manager of East Fife in 2002. He achieved promotion from the Third Division in 2003, but the club were relegated in the following season. He was sacked in 2006 after a run of defeats. He was appointed manager of Forfar in March 2007, but was sacked in April 2008 with the side just one point above last place in the Third Division. James Moffatt (4 July 1870, Glasgow – 27 June 1944, New York City) was a Scottish theologian and graduate of the University of Glasgow. Moffatt trained at the Free Church College, Glasgow, and was a practising minister at the United Free Church in Dundonald in the early years of his career. He received the degree Doctor of Divinity from the University of St Andrews in April 1902. In 1911, he was appointed Professor of Greek and New Testament Exegesis at Mansfield College, Oxford, but he returned to Glasgow in 1915 as Professor of Church History at the United Free Church College. From 1927 to 1939, he was Washburn Professor of Church History at the Union Theological Seminary, New York.
