Shooglenifty are a Scottish, Edinburgh-based six-piece Celtic fusion band that tours internationally. The band blends Scottish traditional music with influences ranging from electronica to alternative rock. They contributed to Afro Celt Sound System's 1996 album '' Volume 1: Sound Magic''. James McIntosh (November 17, 1829 – May 28, 1908) was a Union Navy sailor in the American Civil War and a recipient of the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions at the Battle of Mobile Bay. Born on November 17, 1829, in Canada, McIntosh immigrated to the United States and was living in New York when he joined the U.S. Navy. He served during the Civil War as a captain of the top on the . At the Battle of Mobile Bay on August 5, 1864, he "performed his duties with skill and courage" despite heavy fire. For this action, he was awarded the Medal of Honor four months later, on December 31, 1864. McIntosh's official Medal of Honor citation reads: On board the U.S.S. Jamie McIntosh is both the founder and the executive director of International Justice Mission (IJM) Canada, an organization dedicated to rescuing children from being exploited overseas. He has a master's degree in international human rights law from the University of Oxford. Organization McIntosh founded the Canadian branch of IJM in 2002, after having spent a year and a half in prayer about how to alleviate oppression in other countries.
