Sir James (de) Lindsay of Crawford (died 1358) was a Scottish feudal lord and politician.Paul 1906, p. 11.Cameron 2004. Life Sir James de Lindsay was Lord of Crawford, South Lanarkshire, Crawford and Kirkmichael, Dumfries and Galloway, Kirkmichael. He had been a hostage for David II of Scotland, King David II in 1351, and appears first in Parliament of Scotland, Parliament in 1357. James Lindsay (born ) was a footballer who played at inside-forward or centre-forward. Lindsay played for East Ham side Anchor and turned out for Millwall during 1893–94. He played for Old Castle Swifts until 1895, before transferring to the newly formed Thames Ironworks for the 1895–96 season. He played in a number of games for the club, probably including their first ever fixture against Royal Ordnance. He played in the club's first FA Cup game, against Chatham Town on 12 October 1895. James Bowman Lindsay (8 September 1799 – 29 June 1862) was a Scottish inventor and author. He is credited with early developments in several fields, such as incandescent lighting and telegraphy. Life and work James Bowman Lindsay was born in Cotton of West Hills, Carmyllie near Arbroath in Angus, Scotland, son of John Lindsay, farm worker, and Elizabeth Bowman. During his childhood he was trained as a handloom weaver. However at the same time he educated himself and his parents recognised their son's potential. As a result, they saved enough money to be able to send him to St. Andrews University where he matriculated in 1821. As a student he soon made a name for himself in the fields of mathematics and physics and, after completing an additional course of studies in theology, he finally returned to Dundee in 1829 as Science and Mathematics Lecturer at the Watt Institution. Jamie William Lindsay (born 11 October 1995) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Rotherham United. Lindsay has previously played for Celtic, Dumbarton, Greenock Morton and Ross County, and has represented Scotland in youth internationals. James Gordon Lindsay (June 18, 1906 – April 1, 1973) was a revivalist preacher, author, and founder of Christ for the Nations Institute. Born in Zion, Illinois, Lindsay's parents were disciples of John Alexander Dowie, the father of healing revivalism in America. After the family moved to Portland, Oregon, the young boy was influenced by John G. Lake and converted to Pentecostalism by Charles Fox Parham. At the age of eighteen he began his ministry as a traveling evangelist, conducting meetings in Assembly of God, British Israelite churches and other Pentecostal groups. By 1940 he was organizing large convention meetings, including the 1940 Anglo-Saxon World Federation meetings in Vancouver. In 1947 he began serving as campaign manager and publicist for William Branham, with whom he established ''Voice of Healing'' magazine in 1948.
