James Carson (field Hockey)
James Carson (born 29 April 1994) is a Welsh international field hockey player who plays as a forward for Wales. Carson plays club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Old Georgians, along with his two older brothers. He was picked to represent Wales at the 2023 Hockey World Cup. Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Men's England Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organized by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. Old Georgians Hockey Club (OGHC) is an English field hockey club based in Addlestone, Surrey. The club was founded in 1995 and the men's team are the current English champions. The club currently has six men's teams (including 2 veterans team) and four ladies teams. The junior section is the OGHC Dragons. History In 2019, the men's first team won the Hockey League Conference East and subsequent promotion play off tournament to earn promotion to the 2019-20 Premier Division. Tom Carson (born 29 June 1990) is an English international field hockey player who played as a forward for England and Great Britain. Carson plays club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Old Georgians. He played for Beerschot in Belgium during the 2018–19 season. He played for 6 years, including 2 years as captain for Reading in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division. Carson also played for University of Exeter. His younger brother James has represented Wales in international hockey. He is the oldest of four brothers, all of whom attended Wellington School, Somerset, where their father was a boarding housemaster. Hockey Wales ( cy, Hoci Cymru) is the national governing body for hockey in Wales. The 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup will be the 15th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the International Hockey Federation. Men's FIH Hockey World Cup
The Men's FIH Hockey World Cup is an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was started in 1971. It is held every four years, bridging the four years between the Summer Olympics. Pakistan is the most successful team, having won the tournament four times. The Netherlands and Australia have each won three titles, and Germany has won two titles. Belgium and India have both won the tournament once. The 2018 tournament was held in Bhubaneswar, India from 28 November to 16 December.
