James Brown (c. 1847–unknown) was a Sergeant in the United States Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Indian Wars. Early life James was born in Wexford, Ireland, in about 1847. He was a Sergeant in Company F, 5th US Cavalry when he displayed actions near the Davidson Canyon, Arizona, that would earn him the Medal of Honor. Wexford () is the county town of County Wexford, Ireland. Wexford lies on the south side of Wexford Harbour, the estuary of the River Slaney near the southeastern corner of the island of Ireland.
