Jim Barrett (rugby Union)
James Barrett (3 March 1888 — 31 August 1971) was a New Zealand rugby union international. Barrett, known as "Buster", was born in Paeroa, where he attended St Joseph's Catholic School. He moved to Auckland as a teenager to become an apprentice wheelwright and played his rugby for the city's Marist Brothers Old Boys RFC, Marist club. A loose forward, Barrett was capped twice by the New Zealand national rugby union team, All Blacks in 1913, as a flanker for the 2nd and 3rd Tests against the touring Australians. He made one further All Blacks appearance, an uncapped match on the 1914 New Zealand rugby union tour of Australia, 1914 tour of Australia. The Battle of Picacho Pass, also known as the Battle of Picacho Peak, was an engagement of the American Civil War on April 15, 1862. The action occurred around Picacho Peak, northwest of Tucson, Arizona. It was fought between a Union cavalry patrol from California and a party of Confederate pickets from Tucson, and marks the westernmost battle of the American Civil War involving fatalities (though a skirmish known as the Battle of Stanwix Station was 40 miles further west and 80 miles from the California border in the direction of Fort Yuma). James Barrett (United States Air Force Officer)
John Bayard Britton (May 6, 1925 – July 29, 1994) was an American physician. He was assassinated in Pensacola, Florida, by anti-abortion extremist Paul Jennings Hill. Britton's death was the second assassination of a Pensacola abortion provider in under a year and a half; he had replaced David Gunn after the latter's 1993 murder by another anti-abortionist. Born in Boston, Britton graduated in 1949 from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, then served in the US Army stationed in Korea and also taught at the Medical College of Georgia. He then became a family physician in Fernandina Beach, Florida, spending much of his time delivering babies. After Gunn's murder, Britton began flying across the state to Pensacola weekly in order to perform abortions at the Pensacola Ladies' Center. James Platt Barrett
James Platt-Barrett (29 June 1838 –2 7 December 1916) was an English teacher for the deaf and an amateur lepidopterist. He was one of the founding members of the South London Entomological and Natural History Society and taught at the Royal school for deaf and dumb children at Margate for nearly fifty years. Platt-Barrett may have had a hearing defect in his youth as he was educated at an institution for the deaf and dumb in Yorkshire. He was later noted as being able to communicate without any troubles. He became a teacher for the deaf and dumb. It is thought that he may have been inspired to study butterflies by Charles Baker who was a teacher of deaf children who published a book ''British Butterflies'' (1828) illustrated by his students at the Edgbaston Institution. Biography Barrett was born in 1929 in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated in 1950 from Anderson University (South Carolina). James Barrett (May 31, 1814April 21, 1900) was a Vermont Attorney at law (United States), lawyer, politician and judge who served as President pro tempore of the Vermont State Senate, President of the Vermont State Senate and a justice of the Vermont Supreme Court. James Erigena Barrett (March 28, 1875 – October 24, 1921) was a Major League Baseball (MLB) center fielder. A native of Athol, Massachusetts, he batted left-handed and threw right-handed. Barrett played 10 seasons in the major leagues with the Cincinnati Reds (1899–1900, 1906), Detroit Tigers (1901–05), and Boston Red Sox (1907–08).
