Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) is the national governing body for the sport of athletics (including track and field, long-distance running and racewalking) in Jamaica. The association is based in Kingston. As of December 2020, the president of the association is Garth Gayle, JP. He succeeded Dr. Warren Blake who was elected interim president in November 2011 after the sudden death of Blake's predecessor Howard Aris, and re-elected in November 2012. The objects of the association are to promote, develop and regulate amateur athletics in Jamaica. The JAAA aims to provide instruction and teaching of athletics to teachers, coaches, instructors and athletes. It organises competitions and events in Jamaica whilst laying down rules and regulations and providing rewards to winners. 2019 World Athletics Championships – Women's 400 Metres
The women's 400 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar, from 30 September to 3 October 2019. Summary The 2019 season saw only four women break 50 seconds. World leader Shaunae Miller-Uibo did it three times. Salwa Eid Naser broke it once, coming back against a challenge from Aminatou Seyni. Naser was consistently under 51, five times during the 2019 IAAF Diamond League season. Seyni was not allowed to compete in the 400 metres because of the new IAAF testosterone rule. Danniel Thomas-Dodd (née Thomas, born 11 November 1992) is a Jamaican athlete whose specialty is the shot put. The men's discus throw at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha from 28 to 30 September 2019. Summary Coming in to these championships, Daniel Ståhl dominated the season both with the best throw and the best group of throws. A full metre behind him was Fedrick Dacres and Lukas Weißhaidinger was a further two and a half metres behind him. That form held true in the qualifying round as Ståhl was the only automatic qualifier. As the first thrower, Ståhl set the early standard with a 66.59m.
