Jalen Carter
Jalen Da'Quan Carter (born April 4, 2001) is an American football defensive tackle for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a two-time CFP national champion with the Bulldogs, winning in 2021 and 2022. High school career Carter attended Apopka High School in Apopka, Florida. As a senior, he had 12 sacks to go along with 64 tackles and he recorded a touchdown. A five-star recruit, Carter committed to play college football at the University of Georgia. College career Carter played in eight games as a freshman, recording 12 tackles and a touchdown reception. In Carter's sophomore season he tallied 31 tackles and 3 sacks in 12 games. This performance earned him a spot on the 2021 All-SEC football team. Apopka, Florida
Apopka is a city in Orange County, Florida. The city's population was 55,000 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. ''Apopka'' comes from Seminole word ''Ahapopka'' for "Potato eating place". Apopka is referred to as the "Indoor Foliage Capital of the World" due to the many greenhouse nurseries there. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players.
