Jacques De Baroncelli
Jacques de Baroncelli (25 June 1881 – 12 January 1951) was a French film director best known for his silent films from 1915 to the late 1930s. He came from a Florence, Florentine family who had settled in Provence in the 15th century, occupying a building in the centre of Avignon then called the Baroncelli Palace (now the Palais du Roure). His father's side of the family were of Tuscany, Tuscan origin and part of the Guelphs and Ghibellines, Ghibelline tradition, and they were hereditary Marquis of Javon, Marquises of Javon. Though somewhat aristocratic, the family spoke Provençal (dialect), Provençal, which was rather controversial at a time when it was considered to be a language of the common people. His older brother was Folco de Baroncelli-Javon, He directed well over 80 films between 1915 and 1948 and in the 1940s released numerous films in the United States and Italy. Bouillargues
Bouillargues (; oc, Bolhargues) is a commune in the Gard department in southern France. It includes the hamlets of Garons, Caissargues and Rodilhan. It is situated to the southeast and close to the city of Nimes and in 2013 it had just over 6,000 residents. Geography Bouillargues is located just southeast of the city of Nimes, at the northern edge of the Camargue and between two major highways, the N113 and the RD 135. The centre of Nimes is away, the airport is to the south, Montpellier is away, Avignon , Marseilles and Paris . The climate in Bouillargues is hot in summer and mild in winter. Keller-Dorian Cinematography
Keller-Dorian cinematography was a French technique from the 1920s for filming movies in color, using a lenticular process to separate red, green and blue colors and record them on a single frame of black-and-white film. Keller-Dorian was primarily a manufacturer of paper and aluminum foil (tin foil). It was granted 38 patents. While researching how to create dies to color aluminum foil, they accidentally stumbled on this cinematography technique. This additive color system differs from other systems, for example Technicolor, which divided the colors into more than one frame on one or more pieces of film. The system was used to film several scenes of Abel Gance's ''Napoléon'' (1927) and for '' La Femme et le pantin'' by Jacques de Baroncelli (1928). However, projection of this process in movie theaters seems to have been more difficult, so neither of these films was ever presented using this technique.
