Jacob Roll Knagenhjelm
Jacob Roll Knagenhjelm (1858 – 1932) was the Lord Chamberlain of King Haakon VII of Norway from 1925 to 1931 and a member of the Norwegian nobility. Personal life He was born in Trondhjem as the son of Ludvig Wiese Knagenhjelm (1824–1907) and Selma Angelique Lousie Roll. He was an uncle of Kai Knagenhjelm and brother of Arthur Knagenhjelm. The Knagenhjelm family had resided in Sogndal in recent times, and had been ennobled in 1721, then under the name ''Knagenhielm''. On the maternal side he was a grandson of mayor Jacob Roll and nephew of Oluf Nicolai Roll, Karl Jacob Roll and Ferdinand Nicolai Roll. His sister-in-law Barbara Ihlen was a daughter of Jacob Thurmann Ihlen. Career He finished his secondary education, graduated with the cand.jur. degree and worked abroad for many years. Peder Anker Wedel Jarlsberg
Peder Anker, Count of Wedel-Jarlsberg (born 18 August 1875, died 13 October 1954) was a Norwegian courtier, military officer and estate owner. He served as Lord Chamberlain for King Haakon VII of Norway from 1931 to 1945 and was one of the King's closest confidants for over thirty years. In 1946 he succeeded his brother as head of the house of Wedel-Jarlsberg and feudal count (''lensgreve''), the highest rank of the Dano-Norwegian nobility and equivalent to Duke in other countries. Career He graduated as an officer in 1897 and became the King's adjutant in 1913. He was appointed Chamberlain in 1925 and Second Court Marshal in 1927. He became First Court Mashal and Lord Chamberlain in 1931. During the Second World War, he left the country with the royal family and accompanied Crown Princess Märtha to the United States. Fredrik "Fritz" Frantz Michael Wilhelm Rustad (19 July 1852 – 9 October 1930) was a Norwegian civil and royal servant. He was born in Kristiania as a son of chamberlain Carl Emil Rustad and Henriette Benedicte Løvenskiold. In April 1880 in Sinsen he married Marie Magdalene Schou (1859–1943), a daughter of Halvor Schou. Their son Carl Rustad became a military officer and company director, and married a sister of Jean Heiberg. Their daughter Elisabeth Rustad (1883–1966) married the later Lord Chamberlain Peter Fredrik Broch in 1905, and their daughter Benedicte Rustad (1886–1976) married ship-owner Thomas Fearnley in August 1911. Oscar II (Oscar Fredrik; 21 January 1829 – 8 December 1907) was King of Sweden from 1872 until his death in 1907 and King of Norway from 1872 to 1905. Oscar was the son of King Oscar I and Queen Josephine. He inherited the Swedish and Norwegian thrones when his brother died in 1872. Jacob Thurmann Ihlen (17 May 1833 – 10 October 1903) was a Norwegian barrister and politician for the Conservative Party. Personal life He was born in Holmestrand as the son of ship-owner Nils Ihlen (1793–1865) and Barbara Wincentz Thurmann (1800–1879). He was a brother of Niels Ihlen and Wincentz Thurmann Ihlen, an uncle of Christian and Nils Claus Ihlen, and a granduncle of Nils, Joakim and Alf Ihlen. He married Belgian citizen Ambroisine Pauline Rouquet in February 1868 in Our Saviour's Church, and the couple had five children.
