Jack Robinson (born December 27, 1997) is an Australian professional surfer who competes on the World Surf League Men's Championship Tour. He was crowned surfer of the year twice at the Australian Surfing Awards in 2020 and 2021. Robinson is often considered to one of the best barrel riders of the current days. Robinson did his best WSL performance in 2022 where he finished 3rd on the final rankings. Early years and personal life Robinson was born in December 1997 in Perth, Western Australia to parents Mersina Stratos and Trevor Robinson. He began surfing at age three. By the age of six, he moved with his family to Margaret River, Western Australia. By age 11, Robinson was surfing Pipeline in Hawaii at the Second-Reef at eight-to-10 foot. Jack Robinson (1921 – 20 March 1983) was an anarchist activist and editor of the Freedom paper. A conscientious objector, during the war he worked in an epileptic colony because he was a nurse by training. Linked to this he also took part in a medical experiment living on a diet which caused scurvy, but in fact he earned a good part of his living as a book trader. And his purchase of the tenancy linked to Albert Meltzer’s Wooden Shoe Press was the premise of the long dispute between Meltzer and Vernon Richards. He worked alongside Lilian Wolfe and Mary Canipa in the Freedom Bookshop. Jack contributed quite a lot of articles for Freedom and Anarchy, sometimes anonymously, during the 1970s. Though he is thought to have had a hand in editorial group through the 60's. He grew up in a musical family; his father was an amateur violinist, his mother a professional singer. Robinson's three uncles and his aunt were professional musicians. His father, Bert, was English, his mother, Rena, Canadian. He studied journalism and American literature at the University of Washington. The family soon moved to Clarksdale, Mississippi, where Jack attended Clarksdale public school and graduated in 1946. John Joseph Robinson, Jr. (April 20, 1913 – December 27, 1971) was an American football player. A native of Huntington, New York, he played college football at the center position at the University of Notre Dame and was a consensus selection on the 1934 College Football All-America Team. Robinson was born into an affluent family from Long Island, New York and owned race horses during the time he was at Notre Dame. In his later years, Robinson had his legs amputated due to blood clots. He also had a heart attack in September 1970 and was hospitalized at the Nassau Hospital. He died on December 27, 1971, of another heart attack at his home in Garden City, New York Garden City is a village located on Long Island in Nassau County New York. John William Robinson (22 April 1870 – 28 October 1931) was a professional footballer who played for, among others, Derby County, Southampton and England. Football career Robinson was born in Derby and began playing football for local sides Derby St Neots and Derby Midland before moving to Lincoln City in 1888. After helping the Imps win the Midland Football League in 1890 he returned to his hometown and signed for Football League side Derby County. Robinson spent six seasons at Derby, making over 180 appearances, and was a key player in their 1895–96 campaign which saw them finish as runner-up to Aston Villa. He left Derby in 1897 and spent a season with New Brighton Tower before joining South Coast club Southampton. He enjoyed a successful time with Southampton helping them to dominate the Southern League at the turn of the 20th century.
