Jack Roberts (rugby Union)
Jack Roberts (born 20 November 1991) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays centre for Jersey Reds. Roberts was born and raised in North Wales before moving at 16 to Llandovery College in West Wales. He was part of Llanelli Scarlets academy and played two seasons for Llandovery RFC in the Welsh Premiership. He was named as the division's player of the month in April 2013 after scoring 4 tries in the month. On 23 May 2013 Rotherham Titans announced Roberts had signed for them for the 2013/14 season in the English Championship. Roberts played 27 times for Rotherham that season. On 29 October 2014 Roberts joined Leicester Tigers with immediate effect. He made his starting debut against Northampton Saints in the LV Cup. Following injuries to centre regulars Manu Tuilagi, Matt Smith and Matt To'omua, Roberts was promoted to the first team. The Welsh Premier Division, () known for sponsorship reasons as the Indigo Group Premiership, (''Uwch Gynghrair grŵp indigo'') is a rugby union league in Wales first implemented by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) for the 1990–91 season. Competition history Ahead of the 1990–91 season, the Welsh Rugby Union announced that the top 38 clubs would play in the Heineken National League, split into four divisions with the top ten teams forming the Premier League. The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition. The league is one of the three major professional leagues in Europe (along with the English Premiership and the French Top 14), the most successful teams from which go forward to compete in the European Rugby Champions Cup. Since 2022–23, despite the name, South African teams have been eligible to qualify for European competition, and one South African place is guaranteed. Matthew Papali'i To’omua (born 2 January 1990) is an Australian rugby union professional player who has played over 35 times for since 2013. He plays for the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby and his usual position is at fly-half or inside centre. He has previously played for the Brumbies in Australia and for Leicester Tigers in England's Premiership Rugby. Matthew William Smith (born 15 November 1985) is an English rugby union coach and a retired professional rugby union player. Smith played 228 games for Leicester Tigers between 2006 and 2019. Etuale Manusamoa Tuilagi (born 18 May 1991), known as Manu Tuilagi, is a rugby union player for Sale Sharks. He has played internationally for and the British & Irish Lions. Born in Fogapoa, Samoa, Tuilagi has five elder brothers who played for Samoa. He qualified for England through residency, having moved there at the age of 12, and in 2014 became a British citizen. He has won 43 caps between 2011 and 2020, including playing in the 2011 Rugby World Cup and starting in the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final. The Anglo-Welsh Cup (), was a cross-border rugby union knock-out cup competition that featured the 12 Premiership Rugby clubs and the four Welsh regions. It was a created as a replacement for the RFU Knockout Cup, which featured only English clubs. The competition was replaced by the Premiership Rugby Cup, involving only the 12 English Premiership clubs, beginning with the 2018–19 season.
