Jack Pinoteau
Jack Pinoteau (20 September 1923 – 6 April 2017) or Jacques Pinoteau was a French film director born at Clairefontaine-en-Yvelines. A brother of Claude Pinoteau and Arlette Merry, he is mostly known for his direction of the film ', after a novel by René Fallet which made Darry Cowl famous. Pinoteau died on 6 April 2017, aged 93. Roger Pierre (30 August 1923 – 23 January 2010) was a French comedian and actor. Early life Roger Pierre was born on 30 August 1923 in Paris, France. Career Pierre and Jean-Marc Thibault were one of France's most popular comedy acts. Working regularly throughout the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, Pierre's first film was 1953's ''"Belle mentalité'' (''Wonderful Mentality''). He appeared in such comedies as ''Mary Mary'' (1963), ''Who Is This Woman?'' (1967), ''The Sole Heir'' (1980), ''Mr Masure'' (1987), ''The Night of Barbizon'' and ''The Tureen'' (2001). In 1973, Pierre and Thibault starred in the 1973 comedic television series ', which parodied the 1972 TV adaptation of ''Les Rois maudits''. Michel Serrault (24 January 1928 – 29 July 2007) was a French stage and film actor who appeared from 1954 until 2007 in more than 130 films. Life and career His first professional job was in a touring production in Germany of Molière's ''Les Fourberies de Scapin''. In 1948, he began his career in the theatre with Robert Dhéry in '' Les Branquignols''. His first film was ''Ah! Les belles bacchantes'', starring Robert Dhéry, Colette Brosset (Dhéry's then-wife), and Louis de Funès; directed by Jean Loubignac in 1954. Serrault played in the 1955 suspense thriller '' Les diaboliques'', starring Simone Signoret and directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot. From February 1973 through 1978, he portrayed the role of Albin/Zaza opposite Jean Poiret in the play '' La cage aux folles'', written by Poiret. Jean Poiret, born Jean Poiré (17 August 1926 – 14 March 1992), was a French actor, director, and screenwriter. He is primarily known as the author of the original play '' La Cage aux Folles''. Early career Poiret was born in Paris, and first rose to prominence in 1951 playing the role of Fred Transport, one of the heroes of Pierre Dac and Francis Blanche's radio series ''Malheur aux Barbus''. In 1952, he met his future co-star of ''La Cage'' Michel Serrault at the Sarah Bernhardt Theatre. Together, they starred in the sketch "Jerry Scott, Vedette Internationale".
