Jack Parker (ice Hockey)
Jack Parker (born March 11, 1945) is the former head coach of the Boston University Terriers men's ice hockey team. The 2012–13 hockey season was Parker's 40th and final season as head coach of the Terriers, and his 47th overall at the school as a player or coach. Playing career Parker graduated from Catholic Memorial School in West Roxbury in 1964. He played for the Terriers from 1965 to 1968. The team was a combined 77–22–4 while Parker was a center for the team. Parker played on three Beanpot Championship teams and two teams which played in the NCAA tournament placing fourth in 1966 and second in 1967. Parker was captain of the team during his senior year on the team. Parker played against Boston College's former coach, Jerry York, while York was at BC and in high school. The 1973–74 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 1973 and concluded with the 1974 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game on March 16, 1974 at the Boston Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. This was the 27th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held and is the 80th year overall where an NCAA school fielded a team. In the summer of 1973 the NCAA changed the classifications of the tiers in each of their sponsored sports. The University- and College-divisions were done away with and replaced by numerical designations making this the first official Division I season. Harry Cleverly
Harry Leighton Cleverly (February 21, 1912 – December 3, 1968) was a college ice hockey and baseball coach for the varsity programs at Boston University for twelve seasons. He was also the head coach of the freshman football squad for his alma mater. Career Harry Cleverly came to Boston University in the 1930s, joining the ice hockey squad in 1935 and playing two seasons for the Terriers before graduating in 1937. Cleverly joined the staff of his former coach, Wayland Vaughan, as an assistant as well as joining the military before Boston University offered him the top job for both the ice hockey and baseball programs after World War II. The reconstituted ice hockey program played only 3 games in 1945-46 before returning to a more normal schedule the following season. Ron Mason
Ronald Herbert Mason (January 14, 1940 – June 13, 2016) was a Canadian ice hockey player, head coach, and university executive. A head coach of various American universities, most notably Michigan State University (MSU), he was the most successful coach in NCAA ice hockey history between 1993 and 2012 with 924 wins, until Jerry York (Boston College) become the new winningest coach with his 925th career win on December 29, 2012. Mason was athletic director at MSU from 2002 to 2008. He then served as senior advisor for the USHL Muskegon Lumberjacks. On December 2, 2013, Mason was inducted into the U.S Hockey Hall of Fame. The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. Junior Hockey
Junior hockey is a level of competitive ice hockey generally for players between 16 and 21 years of age. Junior hockey leagues in the United States and Canada are considered amateur (with some exceptions) and operate within regions of each country. In Canada, the highest level is major junior, and is governed by the Canadian Hockey League, which itself has three constituent leagues: the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and the Western Hockey League. The second tier is Junior A, governed nationally by the Canadian Junior Hockey League and is composed of several regional leagues.
