Jack Morris
John Scott Morris (born May 16, 1955) is an American former professional baseball starting pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1977 and 1994, mainly for the Detroit Tigers. Morris won 254 games throughout his career. Armed with a fastball, a slider, and a forkball, Morris was a five-time All-Star (1981, 1984, 1985, 1987, and 1991), and played on four World Series Championship teams (1984 Tigers, 1991 Minnesota Twins, and 1992–1993 Toronto Blue Jays). He went 3–0 in the 1984 postseason with two complete-game victories in the 1984 World Series, and 4–0 in the 1991 postseason with a ten-inning complete-game victory in Game 7 of the 1991 World Series. Morris won the Babe Ruth Award in both 1984 and 1991, and was named World Series MVP in 1991. Jack Morris (American Football)
John Bradley Morris (November 1, 1931 – April 27, 2022) was an American professional football player who was a defensive back for four seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Minnesota Vikings from 1958 to 1961, having earlier played college football at the University of Oregon. Early life Morris was born in White City, Kansas, on November 1, 1931. He was raised in Medford, Oregon, and attended Medford High School. There, he was a standout American football player and track and field athlete, winning three state titles in hurdling. After graduating in 1950, Morris studied at the University of Oregon. He joined the US Air Force after completing his freshman year and consequently served in the Korean War. Jack Morris (jockey)
John William Morris (1845–1896) was a British Classic winning jockey. He won the 1875 Epsom Derby on Galopin for Prince Batthyány. Morris was born in Carshalton, Surrey and began riding in 1863. Besides his Derby victory, he also won the 1,000 Guineas in 1873 on Lord Falmouth's Cecilia, trainer Mathew Dawson's second string. This was the first time the race had been run over the Rowley Mile. Other major victories included the Liverpool Cup in 1868 on Palmer for Sir Joseph Hawley, the 1870 Middle Park Stakes on Albert Victor and the Prince of Wales's Stakes in 1876 on Petrarch for Lord Dupplin. He was hard of hearing. Hence during his Derby win, the crowd shouted "Go on deafie!" He rode Galopin on the widest route to win, and when asked why, replied, "He'd won his race. Jack Morris (born 6 October 1993) is a Scottish professional wrestler currently performing in the Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling Noah, where he was a member of the Good Looking Guys stable. He is also known for his tenures with various promotions from the British independent scene. Early life Prior to his professional wrestling career, Morris was a professional footballer and played as a striker for the Scottish team Cowdenbeath F.C. of the Lowland Football League. Injuries forced him to quit football and eventually make his transition to wrestling. In an interview from August 2022, he mentioned he also works as a gym instructor. John James "Jack" Morris, S.J. (October 22, 1927 – September 30, 2012) was an American Jesuit priest who founded the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in 1956. The Jesuit Volunteer Corps is an organization founded specifically for young, lay volunteer college graduates, who embark in one or more years of voluntary community service. The Meg
''The Meg'' is a 2018 science fiction action film directed by Jon Turteltaub with screenplay by Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber, loosely based on the 1997 book '' Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror'' by Steve Alten. The film stars Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, and Cliff Curtis. A group of scientists encounters a megalodon shark while on a rescue mission on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. Walt Disney Studios originally purchased the film rights to the book in the 1990s but spent years in development hell. The rights eventually landed at Warner Bros. Pictures, and the film was green-lit in 2013. Turteltaub and much of the cast joined by September 2014, and filming began in New Zealand and Sanya, China, ending in January 2016.
