Jack Montgomery (actor)
Jack Montgomery (born 17 February 1992 in Alvechurch, Worcestershire) is a British actor and singer, who has appeared in television, stage productions and films. He studied at St Augustine's High School, Redditch. He portrayed Jeremy Potts in '' Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'' at the London Palladium and he was also part of the original cast of ''Mary Poppins'' in which he played Michael Banks. He returned to the London Palladium to play " Kurt von Trapp" in the 2006 London revival of ''The Sound of Music''. He appeared as young Simon in '' Tristan & Isolde'' (2006) and '' The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey'' (2007). Television roles include appearances in '' Blue Peter'', ''Primeval'', BBC's "Celebrate Oliver!" presented by Shane Ritchie (broadcast on 26 December 2005) and a guest role on the soap '' Doctors''. Alvechurch
Alvechurch ( ) is a large village and civil parish in the Bromsgrove district in northeast Worcestershire, England, in the valley of the River Arrow. The Lickey Hills Country Park is 2.5 miles (4 km) to the northwest. It is south of Birmingham, north of Redditch and east of Bromsgrove. At the 2001 Census, the population was 5,316. History Alvechurch means "Ælfgyth's church". In the eighth century, Ælfgyth founded a church on the site of the church of St. Laurence. King Offa of Mercia gave the land forming the parish to Bishops of Worcester in 780. The parish is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1068 as ''Alvievecherche'' with a small population of under 20 people. In the 13th Century the Bishop of Worcester built a palace in the village, and a weekly market and an annual fair were established. Jack Harkness
Captain Jack Harkness is a fictional character played by John Barrowman in '' Doctor Who'' and its spin-off series, ''Torchwood''. The character first appears in the 2005 ''Doctor Who'' episode "The Empty Child" and subsequently features in the remaining episodes of the first series (2005) as a companion to the series' protagonist, the Doctor. Subsequent to this, Jack became the central character in the adult-themed ''Torchwood'', which aired from 2006 to 2011. It contains news, reviews, opinion, features, and recruitment advertising, mainly directed at those who work in theatre and the performing arts. History The first edition of ''The Stage'' was published (under the title ''The Stage Directory – a London and Provincial Theatrical Advertiser'') on 1 February 1880 at a cost of three old pence for twelve pages. Wolverhampton () is a city, metropolitan borough and administrative centre in the West Midlands, England. The population size has increased by 5.7%, from around 249,500 in 2011 to 263,700 in 2021. Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton
The Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, commonly known as The Grand, is a theatre located on Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, UK, designed in 1894 by Architect Charles J. Phipps. It is a Grade II Listed Building with a seating capacity of 1200. 1894 - 1939 The Grand Theatre opened on 10 December 1894. It was not Wolverhampton's first theatre but has outlasted its rivals, including The Star Theatre, later known as the Theatre Royal, also Clifton Cinema in Bilston Street, The Empire Palace, and later The Hippodrome in Queen Square which was destroyed by fire in the 1950s. The site chosen for the new building was to replace the decaying eyesore next to the Victoria Hotel, later the Britannia Hotel, in Lichfield Street, then as now, a major thoroughfare close to the city centre.
