Jack King (15 January 1879 – 25 June 1965) was an Australian rules footballer who was recruited from the Rutherglen Football Club and played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). King played an incredible 26 years of senior football in the Ovens and Murray Football League, playing in 11 premierships with Rutherglen and was inducted into the O&MFL – Hall of Fame in 2008. Rutherglen is a small town in north-eastern Victoria, Australia, near the Murray River border with New South Wales. The current Rutherglen FNC was created after the merger of Ovens & Murray Football League sides Rutherglen Football Club (1893), Rutherglen and Corowa Football Club, Corowa in 1979. The Stawell Gift is Australia's oldest and richest short-distance running race. The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, Australia, Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia, New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football.
