Jack Froese
Stanley Jack Froese is a Canadian politician who served as mayor of the Township of Langley, British Columbia, Canada from 2011 to 2022. Early life Jack Froese attended Abbotsford Senior Secondary School, graduating in 1972. Froese moved to Langley in 1979, where he purchased a farm and operated a turkey farm called JD Farms Specialty Turkey. Froese also worked as a police officer in the Vancouver Police Department, retiring in 2004. Mayor of Langley Jack Froese was first elected mayor in 2011, defeating incumbent mayor, Rick Green. Froese was then re-elected in 2014 and 2018, and is currently serving his third term as mayor. During 2012, Froese was awarded the Diamond Jubilee medal. On January 9, 2020, his wife, Debbie, passed away due to cancer at the age of 66. Froese is currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the Mayors' Council on the Translink board. Aldergrove is a community in the Township of Langley within British Columbia, Canada, approximately east of Vancouver. The community is urban in nature and, although not incorporated as a town, is often referred to as one. Aldergrove is located at the southeastern edge of both the Township of Langley and the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area, near the western edge of the Abbotsford metropolitan area. Langley Events Centre
The Langley Events Centre is a multipurpose facility in the Langley, British Columbia (district municipality), Township of Langley, British Columbia, Canada. The LEC debuted in April 2009, hosting the 2009 BC Gymnastics Championships. It boasts an arena bowl with a 5,276 capacity for sports, including 24 individual suites. The LEC also showcases a triple Gymnasium with a capacity of 2,200 spectators under its centre court configuration. George Massey Tunnel
The George Massey Tunnel (often referred to as the Massey Tunnel) is a highway traffic tunnel in the Metro Vancouver region of southwestern British Columbia. It is located approximately south of the city centre of Vancouver, British Columbia, and approximately north of the Canada–United States border at Blaine, Washington. Construction, costing approximately $16.6 million in 1959 ($140 million in 2017), began on the tunnel in March 1957, and it was opened to traffic on May 23, 1959 as the Deas Island Tunnel. Township Of Langley
The Township of Langley is a district municipality immediately east of the City of Surrey in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It extends south from the Fraser River to the Canada–United States border, and west of the City of Abbotsford.
