Jack Carson
John Elmer Carson (October 27, 1910 – January 2, 1963) was a Canadian-born American film actor. Carson often played the role of comedic friend in films of the 1940s and 1950s, including ''The Strawberry Blonde'' (1941) with James Cagney and '' Arsenic and Old Lace'' (1944) with Cary Grant. He also acted in dramas such as ''Mildred Pierce'' (1945), ''A Star is Born'' (1954), and ''Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'' (1958). He worked for RKO and MGM (where he was cast opposite Myrna Loy and William Powell in '' Love Crazy'', 1941), but most of his notable work was for Warner Bros. Early years John Elmer Carson was born on October 27, 1910 in Carman, Manitoba to Elmer and Elsa Carson (née Brunke). He was the younger brother of actor Robert Carson (1909–1979). Jack Carson (cricketer)
Jack Joshua Carson (born 3 December 2000) is a professional cricketer. He made his first-class debut on 1 August 2020, for Sussex in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. He was Sussex's leading wicket-taker in the competition, and also the 2021 County Championship. Carson is eligible to play international cricket for either England or Ireland. Career Carson began his career as a batsman, but is now predominantly a bowler. He is eligible to play for England having met the residency requirements to play for England in April 2020. As Carson is currently signed to English county Sussex as a domestic player, he is presently ineligible to play for Ireland, as since 2019, Irish international cricketers have to be registered as overseas players. ''The Jack Carson Show'' is an American old-time radio comedy-variety program. It was broadcast on different seasons on CBS and NBC, beginning on June 2, 1943, and ending on December 20, 1956. The program was also known as ''The Sealtest Village Store'', and the ''New Jack Carson Show.'' It was carried on the CBC Dominion network in Canada, as well. Additionally, ''The Jack Carson Show'' is the title of a television program that was broadcast on NBC from October 22, 1954, until March 11, 1955. Premise Comedian Jack Carson played himself in a show akin to ''The Jack Benny Program'' in the way it portrayed a comedic version of the star's home life, supplemented with music. Radio historian John Dunning described Carson's characterization on the show as "generally bumbling and dumb."
